Guest guest
Dear Bobby, There are quite a few of us waiting to see what the Ariad trial will bring to the non-responders of everything else. Dr. Kantajarian is looking forward to the opening of phase 2. Do you really think it will be in a month? Now that the doctors have more data on these kinase inhibitors, I don't think they get too excited about bouncing PCR's and the quarterly dips we see in our BMA's. I've been around too long and seen so many diversifications and modifications, to the mix, there aren't that many surprises left. By the way I think the email from your former nurse is very tacky and downright unethical, unless you had a personal relationship and were in touch. Why would you even be in her address book after all this time. There must be some software out there to keep these communications down to a minimum. I had one some time ago, called a white list, but after my computer crashed, I lost it. You have to pre-register with the adressee to ask that your email be permitted to go through to your mail box. Anyone have any suggestions? Call it junk mail, spam or whatever, it is an annoyance, especially the ones telling you that you have been selected to receive millions of dollars. Some people actually fall for it and they are raking in the money or they wouldn't have so many. Why don't they just get a real job????? Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Hi Bobby, I hope you get to start the Ariad trial. You and Len would be good for each other, and Ernie!! Did you have the blood draws and other test then sent home or are you staying there until they know if you qualify for the trial or not? Is this the Phase I trial or Phase II? I return April 8th and am thinking maybe they will have the same tests done on me, then send me home until I can get in the trial for sure. It is more critical for you and Len and I am doing okay on HHT. No side effects and my counts are stable. I would like to wait until the school year is over so my job isnt at risk but cml doesn't work around our schedule, does it! I am thinking of you, Len, and Ernie all the time. Wishing and praying that this drug will zap cml for good. Ernie-I am following Len's posts. Praying, praying, and praying some more for you both. They drew extra blood, did chest Xray, ekg, echocardiogram today, and will do a bma/bmb next week to see if I qualify. If I do, I will spend 2 weeks in Ann Arbor, but will not count on that until I know for sure. I would start on 15 mg,. Len is on 8, is tired, but no other side effects to speak of. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, no, I had the tests, went to dinner and came home. It is only 175 miles, a 2 1/2 hr drive for me. All highway, no lights, and MI is a 70 mph speed limit, so that means 89, right? Ernie just wrote and said len's counts are down and she is tired, perhaps they will give her a break for a bit. I'm glad you're doing well, but it begs the question, why change? Len so far has no bad side effects other than fatigue and the big " D " has gone away for the first time in years, so good for her. This is phase 1, Len is on 8mg, I will be on 15mg, Ernie said " Uh oh " , that makes me nervous! Will keep you posted, at least staying in Ann Arbor will be a lot cheaper than Houston, the motel is older, and the kitchen is a kitchenette, but it's only going to be $37.00. Close to the hospital and all the good places to eat, and Len and Ernie stay there too. Guest guest
Hi Bobby - Dr Cortes wants me to change because the molecular test are going up. They were down to 3% at one time but now are up to over 35%. Still no blast so that's why we do not have to rush into the ariad trial. I can wait until the time is better for me here at home. I am out of sick time at work so any days that I'm not working I don't get paid and that makes for a long 6 weeks as all of us have been through many times!! Take care Bobby. Give Len and Ernie hugs for me when you see them next.
