Guest guest
Since I am taking gleevec I tried to have the discipline to drink at least 2 liters of water per day but lately I got a bit lax. Bad idea. Yesterday I went hiking all day, took water with me, and totally forgot to drink. Just a coffee all day. At dinner I drank a glass of water with the gleevec pill, and about 15mn later all of the sudden I almost fainted from the pain in my right side. Tried to take an ibuprofen and threw up. To make a long story short I managed to drive to the emergency where I spent half the night and after various tests (not so fun, fortunately I don't get embarrassed too easily) they dxed a kidney stone. Never had one, not pleasant. Feeling a lot better today, I may not even cancel my day climbing plans yet. Lesson learned : keep drinking 2l/day. I did have a light dull pain in the lower abdomen all day that I ignored, what with hindsight wasn't so smart. But hindsight is always 20/20.
