My urologist said it was a combination af the foods eaten and the body chemistry. Drinking helps the grains from forming as quickly so keep drinking and stay as hydrated as possible. Good Luck. Verdeana West Terre Haute, Indiana, USA Re: [ ] Kidney Stones Hi Tracey, From what I understand it can have a variety of reasons, that why the drs want me to catch the stone in case I pass it to see what kind of stone it is. All the blood work and urine test were normal. I got a follow up today and the dr said it s unlikely to pass and I ll probably have to have it removed by some sort of laser/ultrasound procedure. There isn't a big hurry as I am doing pretty good now but I d rather get over it sooner than later, I have things to do in January, I am waiting for the procedure to be scheduled, I hope before Christmas. It doesn't sound too bad, outpatient procedure, out of the hospital the same day. I had read the thing about bodies of water, pretty strange, but I do leave next to the San Francisco bay for the last 8 years. The tap water in my place is so bad that I either drink mineral water or I use a filter. And it seems that's not good for kidneys for the reason you mentioned. I don't think the diving is a significant amount of time but I do get sometime dehydrated on the longer dives (3h). And, as I mentioned before my blood was full of waste and probably with some wild ph for who knows how many months, probably years before the cml remission. There is no history of kidney stones in my family. Marcos.
