Guest guest
Our NJ, NY, Indie meetup was held at a Lavender Farm in NJ last weekend & we were told that Lavender is exceeding difficult to start from seed - they don't even try themselves. I hope you can find the Pink at a nursery - maybe try online. I bought two deep purple French lavender plants & see they have already begun to bud. I would also love to get some pink, yellow & white. Good luck with your search. For the past few years I have been really interested in having a pink lavender in my garden. i wanted (have room for) 3 varieties. Munstead, pink and another, forgot the name. I bought the seeds and tried a few times now to grow them with no luck. they wont sprout. And the plants seem expensive ( I saw them at park seed) I would really like some. they seem really unique. I would love it if anyone had a small plant i would even pay a bit for it. I just love unique items.

Guest guest
I found out the lavender from seed is hard too. Out of the many seeds I planted only a couple of sprouts came out. Make sure the lavender gets a good shot of the sun on your window sill and find out when it's best to plant based on your zone. I usually water my plant and just ignore it until it's bone dry. From what I have read the lavender has been dubbed the neglected child of the herb kingdom since it still can thrive in dry areas (though I don't take that chance). I planted mine last August and have a nice plant going - except it's growing sideways. I even asked the lady at the Lavender Farm in Jersey why it does that. Her answer was it was just growing in the direction of the sun. Also, the roots tend to grow wild so a good deep container works well. Oh, and strangely enough I have a new sprout this summer lol...go figure... Good luck! ________________________________ From: K Bear Creations <Koalas_boutique@...> Sent: Thursday, July 5, 2012 8:51 AM Subject: Re: pink lavender  it comes in yellow and white too???? oooooo very interesting. huh wished i knew about the seed issue b4 hand.
