Guest guest
Dear Eva, Has it been a year already. I remember when you were a newcomer. There are many drugs you can take for depression, and perhaps there is one that will be just right for you. It's hard to be positive when you are depressed and it is not unusual to be when you are on TKI drugs. Like you, most people live with it, just glad to be alive, but it would be great to have a better QOL. Good luck. It will be the first anniversary of your re-birth. I don't remember who coined that word, but it's one to keep in mind. Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Hi Eva: Sorry your still having such a problem with the liver. I have to ask you if you have been on Tylenol for pain by any chance. When I was clinical trial, I had to sign a release that I was informed no Tylenol for pain. That was back in 2000, and to this day I never took Tylenol. They put such a scare into me at that time regarding Tylenol and Gleevec destroying the liver. I use nothing for pain. I just cope with it. I cannot even use Ibuprofen because my kidney doctor tells me it will destroy the kidneys. You have all of us praying for you, and lets get the liver under control so they can try you on a newer treatment that is available. Maybe a new doctor too. I don't know. God Bless You!!! Guest guest
Hi Suzzie, The debate as to whether Tylonol is OK to take with Gleevec ended for me years ago when the question was answered by R. years ago. Here is that post. Tylenol always worked the best for me for pain, but I've been > told to take Motrin. Would be interested in your take, and others, on this. Hi , The reason for the fooforaw about Tylenol is that one patient, who already had liver problems, took too much of it while on IM and died of liver failure. It has never subsequently caused any problems, to my knowledge, and I don't believe the big honcho CML docs recommend against it. It should be used with caution though (one probably shouldn't take more than 6 a day, for example), and not at all in people with any sort of liver disease.
