Guest guest
Hi Everybody Just thought I would share the good news, is fine. We had a rough time but the doc was very nice and explained things to so she could understand why she was there. She also explained things to her about growing up and having cramps. She gave her a book to keep " what teenagers want to know " . It looks like a pretty good book and I joked with her about me having to read it first so I will know the answers. was so afraid, and I felt so bad to have had to put her in this position, but I also knew how important it was to make sure she was ok. She was crying and shaking and I got to a point where rationalizing was not working so I had to take control and tell her this is what you need to do and you will do it. I felt bad but I had to. After examining her the doc said she is developing at the right speed and there is nothing wrong with her. She explained that the other doc (the pediatrician) does not see girls in the developing stages and so she doesn't understand how ALL BODIES are different. We were there for about an hour and I promised that after all this is over 1) we will never go back to the pediatrician again, I am looking for a new one, and 2) that as a reward her and I will go out sometime this week and get her something special for being so good. was quite relieved after all this was over she was back to her old self on the way home, making jokes and talking uncontrollably. I made sure to tell her how proud I was of her and that she was very brave, and now we knowshe is ok. The doc also said that she should not have to be seen by a gynocologist until she is between 17 and 20......... (depending when she becomes sexually active)!!!She was happy to hear that (so was I). Thank You everyone for getting me through this ordeal, You are ALL wonderful people. Cheryl (in CT)
