Deborah,

I have a 16 yr sophomore daughter diagnosed about 7 months ago w/ ocd. She is

now on her 3rd meds and is in

therapy. School is very hard for her especially since her senior sister has a

3.8 or better. My 16 yr old is very

athletic and awesome in things of her own, but she doesn't see that. She has a

B average. We talked w/ counselors

at school and got her on the " 504 " plan under the " American Disabilites Act " .

Any school federally funded has to

provide this or they will be sued. It is not classified as special ed or

resource. They provide accomodations

made especially for her in her regular classes. Tests in the library with more

time. She only has to turn in 1/2

the work and gets extra credit for what she does above and beyond.

She is on 100 mg zoloft and .5 klonopin. Still has compulsions and teen

behaviour which is hard to decide on

sometimes.

I have been going thru quite a grief period myself. Very depressed and up and

down with her highs and lows. I

feel I have almost gone crazy. I want the daughter back that we had. Well we

have to adjust and some days will be

harder than others. I am learning not to baby her and let her get over some of

the sad times so she doesn't use

them against mom.

All in all it becomes a routine and you know when things are bad they turn on a

dime.

Hang in there and talk if you need
