Fats I am doing: Olive oil, butter and sunflower oil. ==>Motility increases with more nutrients, but particularly fats. Are you taking the ratio of fats recommended in the Candida Diet Folder under Calculate Your Ratios? It is important to keep the proper balance between protein and fats, with much more fats than protein. If I were you I nix the sunflower oil and add coconut oil. Guest guest
Deb, I had a another thought. You might need to exercise more and/or do more dry skin brushing both of which help increase motility. You could rebound on a mini trampoline or jump rope, just walking is great too. I used to give myself points for doing everything on the candida program, particularly for walking. Bee > > Yes, I do a lot of good fat and have tried the Vit C. Guest guest
Bonnie, I don't think it's from the toxins in the yeast. I think it's a sensitivity to fiber. Are you on antifungals? I got a bad reaction to inulin and I think it's because of being on antifungals. Weighttrainer, or anyone, how can you tell if you have leaky gut--does everyone with systemic candida have it, are they the same thing? Also I thought people did all that colon cleansing stuff for candida, doesn't that involve psyllium? vicky > > > > Hi Guys: > > > > > > > > Boy did I have a reaction yesterday from taking just 1 teaspoon > Psyllium in > > water - nothing else. > > > > > > > > It felt like I was " poisoned " and I suppose that is the toxins from > the > > yeast. > > > >
Guest guest
I had a really bad reaction once to wheatgrass. I had heard all of these wonderful things about it. I actually juiced a wheat grass plant myself and had about 1/2 a tbsp of the stuff. It tasted horrible and I was in agonizing stomach pain for about 18 hours. Guest guest
Thanks for this reply. I did not know that. This bad feeling lasted for about 4- 5 hours. I wondered what the heck was going on. I have not taken Psyllium for a couple of years but it didn't cause a problem before. I get the same bad feeling when I take Senokot (laxative) and that doesn't make sense. Also when I take Calcium or Magnesium but THEN it lasts for about 20 hours. I have lot Vitamin D, so... Guest guest
Hi Vicky: No I'm not on anti-fungals. So you think it is a sensitivity? Well I eat a lot of fibre in vegetables and I don't have a problem. But I ALSO can't take Inulin OR Whey and I've never figured it out. I wish I knew the answers. Guest guest
I hadn't seen the comment before that psyllium should not be used by people with leaky gut; my instinct tells me it's probably a myth because it's just soluble fiber, one of many in a normal diet. Bowel health relies on fiber, and we've been using all kinds of extra fiber to get well ...still, I guess one could use more inulin or switch to pectin or some such other soluble fiber. Guest guest
I've read this in many articles on leaky gut but I don't have the links right now. The insolube fiber seems to be recommended more for leaky gut. > > > > > > Hi Guys: > > > > > > > > > > > > Boy did I have a reaction yesterday from taking just 1 teaspoon > > Psyllium in > > > water - nothing else. > > > > > > > > > > > > It felt like I was " poisoned " and I suppose that is the toxins > from > > the > > > yeast. > > > > > > > > > > > > Has anyone else reacted like that? > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > Bonnie > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Vicky, although it can contain about 3 grams of inulin, chicory coffee also contains some of the highest levels of the carcinogen " acrylamide " of any food. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. That is frightening. The herbal pseudo-coffee I have contains chicory. Guest guest
Psyllium for Diarrhea and Constipation Psyllium is a tiny seed that contains mucilage, a soluble fiber that swells on exposure to water. For diarrhea, psyllium can absorb excess fluid in the gut. For constipation, psyllium adds bulk to stool, which presses on the colon wall and triggers the nerves that produce the urge to go. You may find psyllium at health-food stores, but it's easiest to take Metamucil, which is psyllium with flavoring. When using psyllium, drink plenty of water. Allergic reactions are possible. Guest guest
It is very dangerous bc it cause haital hernia to me and people with candida predisposed to that. Any fiber laxative can cause obstruction in gut. You can use glicerin capsule it is safe. Liz > > I'm wondering about people's opinions of psyllium... I'm using the > husk and I find that it helps. Guest guest
Liz, saying any fiber laxative can cause obstruction in the gut might be correct if the fiber was given dry. Inulin for example, the most common fiber after starch, only modulates the fecal contents if adequate water was mixed in it. Similarly, a dose of a tsp of psyllium will only thicken a large tumbler of water. One shouldn't have it dry but stirred into that tumbler of water.
