Guest guest
I've noticed that the older I get the thinner my skin seems to be and a little scratch bleeds a lot longer then it used to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. faye
Guest guest
I have this in my data files.......To have health skin, eat lots of fish and vegetables and reduce your sugar or simple carbohydrate intake. Some people break out if they eat too many nuts. I also recommend you eat more fish or take Fish-Oil supplements or flax seed. Higher intakes of antioxidant vitamin and fresh fruits and vegetables, and lower intakes of saturated fats and simple carbohydrates are associated with better skin-aging appearance. Intervention with flaxseed and borage oil supplements modulates skin condition in women.British Journal of Nutrition. 2008 Sep 2:1-6. Box 101007, D-40001 Düsseldorf, Germany. In the present study, two groups of women ingested flaxseed or borage oil for 12 weeks. The control group received a placebo containing medium-chain fatty acids. Dose was 2g total fatty acids/d with -linolenic acid were predominant. In the flaxseed oil group, the contribution of -linolenic acid in the borage oil group. Transepidermal water loss was decreased in both oil groups by about 10<05). Except for hydration, none of the parameters was affected in the placebo group. The present data provide evidence that skin properties can be modulated by an intervention with dietary lipids. Guest guest
Hi Faye, I have the same issues. Especially during the winter months when the air is so dry. I don't like to use OTC lotions though. I use a healing balm made from olive oil and beeswax infused with goldenseal and comfrey. Just a little dab hear and there and spread it out. Also we eat a lot of pineapple and papaya for the skin benefits. Peace, love, laughter I've noticed that the older I get the thinner my skin seems to be and a little scratch bleeds a lot longer then it used to. It was hard getting him off the stuff!! +++Hi Tina. It's great to hear from you. That's awesome your hubby loves the new eating plan! Yippee! > > I had a little hiccup over the holidays (between Christmas, my > husband's birthday and two children's birthdays - yikes!!) and my > eating was not consistently on the candida plan. Got right back on it > after that and back to doing great. I have been taking the 6 Tbsp > coconut oil, oregano oil, supplements, probiotics, electolyte drinks, > extra fat etc. but I noticed in the last two days, my hands have been > dry. Didn't notice that at all as a symptom of die off before. I am > not having any die off that I am aware of. WOuld this possibly mean I > am not drinking enough water? Any thoughts? +++Water is important, but it in order for cells to absorb it, there must be proper minerals and good fats. So ensure you are taking all of the supplements (some are fats) and ocean sea salt for the over 84 minerals, along with drinking water, but don't drink lots; go by your thirst. See this article about Dry Skin for more information: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/skin2.php Also put plenty of coconut oil on your hands and keep them out of hot water which is very drying.
