I was going to use a combo of flax seed/ rice as my base and then add herbs and eo's. does this sound good or not? Also how long does the scent last if it goes in the frig and or microwave.? Is there a way to keep the scent going. Would I use benzoin in the fax/rice mixture to substain the scent. Also what is a preferable fabric to use when making these. My choose would be flannel on the side that touches you face and cotton on the other. Lots of ?'s and I would love some help with this . As you can see this is really new for me. >> , I haven't done it, but the conversation has been that rice would be too heavy. Benzoin gum could be used as a fixative, but lavender keeps its scent for a very long time by itself, so it may not be necessary. Recommended fabrics are cottons and silks. As you can see, I've been meaning to do it, but . . . :-) Beth

You fill them with herbs and oils and pop them under your pillow at night. http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=177 Happy making smelly stuff. regards Shellie http://www.craftbits.com > > Oops, I forgot. Guest guest
Suzi, thanks for this post! I was looking for Ideas of things i could make to give since finances are tight this year and i am not up to knitting so much this holiday since i dislocated my right shoulder 2 weeks ago. This sounds much easier and and I have everything to do it! Previously i have also given Buckwheat Hull pillows. Mostly same principle but on a bit larger scale - but super affordable and everyone who received one, loved it! Happy Holidays!
