Guest guest
I have used Evie's sage tea and can attest to its efficacy. Before that, I used tincture of motherwort, which also worked...until it didn't. But I highly recommend Evie's sage tea. Sharyn, on the beach in Jamaica...just back from a massage in a little gazebo above the waves breaking on the rocks P.S. I'm sorry...I tried to trim and couldn't... ----- Original Message ----- From: Okay - sage tea: Take about a cup of dried sage leaves, and put them in a glass jar you can close tightly. I used an apothecary jar. Pour approximately 1 1/2 cups boiling water over the leaves, close it up, and let it steep for at least 4 hours (I used to let it sit all day). Strain through cheesecloth (or whatever you've got that will strain it), and drink up. It's a very strong sage flavor, so I can't recommend sipping it...and for heaven's sake, DON'T try to sweeten it! YUCK!! The herb book I got this from said not to take more than a couple times a week, as some chemical in the sage can contribute to irritability (like I needed any help with that!), however, I found the tea to be very effective for 6 to 8 weeks per cup. Sadly, I am looking at the instances increasing with the return of warm weather. } Last summer, standing at the kitchen sink and running hot water was just the WORST!! Sweat running from my forehead so hard it splashed on my glasses and looked like I'd hit them with the water! (Don't I just wish)! But my older sister was dead about 8 months after starting HRT, so there is no way on the planet I'll do that. I'd rather be uncomfortable and still here, you know? HTH Ev Hey, I have a problem with what I think must be hot flashes. Since I have never experienced them before I can't say for sure. I've never heard anyone discribe them and so don't know if that's what I'm feeling. All I do know is I sweat soooo much. I can be sitting and doing nothing at all and I'll break out in a huge sweat and even have to change to a tank top from my nice warm soft comfortable flannel shirt. The episodes are getting more frequent too. I want them to go AWAY!!! Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Hah! You Carribbean Beach Goddess, you! Oh, I can hear the steel drums now! My SIL's doctor admitted to her that lots of things work - until they don't anymore. Apparently our bodies can build up tolerances for some of these things, reducing or eliminating their successful function. Poo, frankly. /:p But I'm going to work with the motherwort for a while (at least as long as the two ounces last), and perhaps by then I will have convinced my body that it's doing gloriously well on its own! Guest guest
Right! Which is why I was so pleased to discover that the sage tea worked for 6 to 8 weeks (once it was 10!), rather than having to use it 2 or 3 times a week! Ev That is why I only use when needed.
