Guest guest
LOL, that sounds like my " boy " . I have to make sure he doesn't stop beside me as he can sometimes only go about a foot before he is walking and peeing! Ev - I can take each one out individually, but just not together. DH wont go with me, so typically i take my girl who is not so into the whole sniff and pee cycle and much more inclined to be obedient on a walk. I guess the key here is that i need to spend more time walking both... and we (boy, girl and me) could all use it! ~~~~~Oh, yes, indeedy - practice does make things go much more smoothly! And you might be surprised at how quickly they can learn to go as a group. But it does take working at it, and seriously being in charge of the whole expedition. I do use the loop around method for the leash, but she still pulls pretty hard so i even have to wear a weight lifting glove so i dont get a strap burn on my hand. ~~~~Hmmm. I won't use a choke collar, but I WILL use prong collars for remedial work. My dogs are 6 and 4 years old, and I just stopped using those (again) a couple months ago. There was definite pulling on my hand, and as I said before, I had 3 adult GSDs on my left hand, which was a good bit over 200 pounds. I have been pulled off my feet before, and I'm done with that. And is your leash leather? Leather is SO much less inclined to burn than nylon, and they're like $5 or $6 at PetsMart. Funny how they shaped up right quick with those collars on, and I didn't have to do much correcting. Kind of like the horse who behaves better simply seeing that you are carrying a crop, while you probably won't ever have to use it. Now I can take them out with just their loose leather collars on, and not worry about staying in control. Love to all and thanks for the motivation, i have been a bit off my game with regards to exercise especially in the last 10 days (end of Total Body cleanse) as i haven't had 1 ounce of energy to spare. Syl ~~~~ Hey, it comes when it comes, you know? I had quit doing any sort of stretching or weights for over a year - pouting because the weights had made my elbow sore. I'm back at it, none the worse for wear, although I'm not doing the curls I had been doing before. Doesn't bother me in the slightest that I'm not doing those! Guest guest
My Miz Cedar is an inveterate puller, too, and I found using the SPORN halter has turned her into a very considerate walker, with no fuss or muss. http://www.sporn.com/product_info.php?products_id=63 Sharyn -----Original Message----- From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of Sylvia I do use the loop around method for the leash, but she still pulls pretty hard so i even have to wear a weight lifting glove so i dont get a strap burn on my hand.
