i'm due for a dental appt tomorrow... will see how my pockets are...

i've been mostly veggie for the last 2mo's and in being so, plaque has

literally fallen outta the cracks of my teeth - surprisingly!

my 2cents is that i'm not excited about the idea of ingesting

inorganic things considering: 1. my body does not naturally produce

this " nutrient " (minteral, etc.); 2. this is not a naturally occurring

nutrient in ANY FOOD that we consume naturally in any form of whole

food or whole animal.

my vote is for daily flossing and brushing w/a predominant veggie

diet. again, i was stunned that plaque deposits just fell off from my

teeth so easily after keeping at a consistent veggie diet - what a

trip!

i guess rinse w/silver at most? ah... that's prolly what you meant by

using cs for your situation... and not ingesting it. in that case...

sounds just as risky as rinsing with listerine to me! ;) but i still

vote for brush and floss and veggies!

I would try CS three times a day. How often did the dentist recommend using Listerine? Use CS the same number of times. It is a surperb mouthwash.

question about colloidal silver and dental pockets

Hi everyone,

I just got back from the dentist and my gum pockets were measured after two years. Although flossing and brushing and taking COQ10, my pockets have gotten bigger. The hygienist suggested Listerine but I would like to use something more holistic. Does anyone know if colloidal silver has been effective since it kills bacteria? If yes, how often would I use it?

Thanks,

Michele

Hi Kelvin,

Thanks for your response. I forgot to mention that I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I eat very little dairy and what I do eat is raw. The plaque unfortunately does not fall out of my teeth. On the contrary, I seem to produce a lot.

In addition to the CS, You might consider trying the Tooth and Gum Formula.

Ingredients: Echinacea, Bayberry, Oak bark, Cayenne, Tea tree oil,Clove oil,

and Peppermint oil.

We have a Water Pick and add a few drops of just the Bayberry tincture, and when

we did this regularly, both DH and I experienced improved gum health. (just

dont swallow this stuff!)

hi michele (one of my favorite names incidentally),

hmmmm... then I wonder if another factor was that (when the plaque did

fall out) I was avoiding all carbs and sugars (from fruits as well as

manufactured). I was trying to e more alkaline ... I still eat cars n

fruits but hve considered tryg again for a longer period just to see

what the results are. when I avoided all sugars n carbs, I did that

for about 20days (had to cheat! too much chg from a s.a.d. way to

raw/alkaline diet was a it much for my sanitys sake :) )...

since I've been back on carbs n fruits tho, my plaque has come back.

perhaps for that experiment alone (plaqueon teeth) I shud try again.

from what I learnd in the alkaline diet (of avoiding alllll sugars or

minimizing is a better word) removing carbs n sugars (regardless of

source) helped cleanse the body of candida n othe mal bacteria. the

more I think about it .. the more I etcha THAT was why the plaque

magically fell outta my mouth. it was a decent size chunk too! like a

baby baby tooth! :) ok . maybe too much info! :)

do u have carbs n sugars (ie fruits) in ur diet? if so..how much?

anyway...may be abit too extreme for anti plaque maintenance!

on the note of being alkaline tho...fish on occasion was fair

game...and some (lots actually) nuts were off limits.
