tummy??

Oh, dear! Well, um ... <blush> they find it " stimulating " . And since

studies (voyeuristic ones, at that) show that dolphins tend to like it

rough, and since we can't hold our breaths under water for very long at all,

at all, the combination is NOT a safe one.

The staff at the DRC could not seem to over-emphasize this point, without

explaining it in the slightest, " DO NOT PET THEIR TUMMIES! " But Playboy

(yes! I know!) had run an article MANY years ago about just how orgiastic

and rough the dolphins' " private " lives (yeah, right!) truly are, so I sat

there with a smirk while they told all us " touries " the rules.

One article I saw in (naturally) National Geographic showed a pictorial

series of two or three males trying desperately to separate a female from

her pod into some shallows, apparently with the intent to gang rape her.

Gives a whole new imagery to the perpetual " smile " they seem to wear,

doesn't it?!

Ev (and no, I don't think ill of dolphins now. I live with the well-known

contradictions of cats).
