Guest guest
Total Tonic burn... You're experience sounds like mine when I have to much wasabi (Japenese spice) on my sushi, but may be not as intense. Feels like your nose was just lit on fire for a few seconds with the wasabi. Afterwards though it's all good because you can breath again and all of your airways are open. Although during the process you'll do a little jig in your chair till it's over. You're right, Total tonic is not for the meek or those with glass stomaches. Sounds like it takes time to build up to the level at which your on. Do you do this often or just when you feel a flare up of the sinus coming? How long does it stay on the shelf? Does it ever go bad? How would one know if it was going bad? Pretty strong smelling stuff. It is interesting that you use all of the leaves and stems, nothing is wasted. Glad that it is working for you, seems a little goes a really long way. You actually have to snuff the pulverized, dehydrated mash. Only about twice a pin head size bit. NOT the push pin size, but the sowing pin size. But it will make you do a dance you've never done before. Done on a regular basis, 2-3 times a day will clear up most minor infections. But as I said, or implied, it is not for the meek. It does burn. I used to snort Meth, and I can't honestly say which burns worse. I wish you Positive Energy on your path! As always, Peace, love, laughter I wasn't aware that many used tonic for sinus infections, now I know. Debra ..
Guest guest
Very similar experiences! With the Tonic itself, I've actually found some that I'd forgotten about that was almost 2 yrs old, and it was still good. With the dehydrated mash, it'll keep for longer than I know, because it never lasts that long here. We use it like other, well should I say "normal" people use salt and pepper. As for how often to dose, with the actual Tonic itself, we dose every day. My wife and I take about a shot-glass worth or two a day. Our 11 yr old takes about three tablespoons a day. The snuff, we take as needed, if needed. Never for more than 3 days. Just doesn't seem needed more than that. And you're right, nothing is wasted. That's kind of a policy in our family in general. Nothing goes to waste, in one way or another. All that our Creator created is Good. It's our interference that causes it to become something else. I don't remember.....have you made Tonic before? If so, what were your experiences? If not, we'd love to hear how it goes when you do. We can't have our grandaughters in the house when I make it. They can't take the smell. It gets pretty intense. But we have a neighbor that always comes knocking when she smell it, and of course we pass some along. It's a natural law. Give of what you have, and you will never be in want. As always, Peace, love, laughter Oh, almost forgot..... We just got a notice from our son's school. They have their first confirmed case of H1N1. This weekend, they are disinfecting the entire school. is doubling his doses. Me Total Tonic burn... Guest guest
Wow, ! Two years and it is still good. That is wonderful. No, I never actually made tonic myself. Also I never really considered it for sinus infections until I read it on this list. As a youngster my step grandmother would give it to me because I would have brutal ear infections and high fevers.. The tonic was given to me in warm water or in a soup, otherwise I wouldn't take it cause of the smell. I would run just like your granddaughters. ;o) I believed she lived well into her 90's and I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of the tonic. However some colleagues of ours that we barter with makes tonic, and yep you can smell it before you enter the house. It gives you a kick just from a little sip. Whoa!! DH, just chugs it down, while I'm holding my nose. Everyone has their unique formulas, and what works for them works for them. I'm amazed how you and the Mrs. take it straight on a daily basis. Anne and I think Gayla was putting it on her eggs or a salad. And here I am getting floored by a sip. LOL Takes some getting use to, I guess. It took me awhile to handle apple cider vinegar and mustard for a salad dressing, but it is so good on a spinach salad with avocados. Yummo But tonic as a salad dressing...Now that is a whole new way of thinking. Watch for the cough and sore throat with , that tonic will help greatly I bet. Guest guest
The first time I made some it went up onto the shelf where I discovered it years later. It looked and smelled really nasty (or so I thought at the time) I didn't even try it internally, used it externally as bug repellent. Worked pretty good to keep the ticks off me. Haven't tried it on mosquitoes yet.
