Guest guest
You can leave the seeds in the habs, the skin on garlic and ginger. No muss, no fuss. And a happy glorious spring to you too. Guest guest
Hey Cheryl When I make tonic, which I just did, I put it all in the blender. Seeds, skins, stems. The whole works. Then I let it sit for at least two days, preferably two weeks, and press out the tonic from the mash. The mash we dehydrate and pulverize and use as a condiment for food. And to clear out a sinus infection. Hope this helps!! As always, Peace, love, laughter Hi Team!!!So this morning I put some tea tree oil on my foot and went about my business. Then a couple hours later, I went in the kitchen and made a batch of total tonic. When I was done, my sinuses were draining and I blew my nose. Boy, was I surprised to get a strong odor and taste of tea tree oil! A good reminder about how potent esstential oils can be.Anyway, I wonder if any of you total tonic pros out there can tell me if I need to scoop the tiny seeds out of the habeneros and if I can leave the skin on the garlic blubs and ginger. Because I have to filter the smash out, I wondered if it matters? Any opinions? Thanks and hope everyone is having a great Spring!Peace on earth.Cheryl
Guest guest
I do the same as and Gayla, but i make close to a gallons worth each time. I let mine sit for 2 week before I strain and pour into a 24oz brown bottle for everyday use. The i let the rest of the batch " brew " for up to 6 months. Let me tell you that last batch is a DOOZIE! Guest guest
Total Tonic most certainly is FOR consumption! It is the like liquid sunshine, antibiotic, antiviral, etc all rolled into one and packs a nice kick! Recipe should be in the files. Guest guest
i'm afraid to ask... so this " tonic " is a blended and sits (in the fridge?) for weeks BEFORE you're supposed to drink it? hmmm... how much of it are you supposed to drink? what are the noticeable benefits? and the 1,000 dollar question... what does it taste like? do i need a chaser or clothes pin to close my nose before swallowing? oh ya... and will i get the runs after the first time (or first few times) of drinking this stuff? oh... and how often/frequently is this witch's brew taken? thanks! Guest guest
But if total tonic is an antibiotic, doesn't it kill the good flora as well? Shari
Guest guest
I always assume it does. I take both kefir and kombucha pretty regurlarly so I replenish the good bugs. Guest guest
Hi Kelvin, yes I got it. I am just sitting down for a quick read tonight. I will get back to you on it. Thanks. I think some of you misunderstood my intentions. I do not desire to go mega-huge and conquer the world. I just don't want someone stealing my work. Guest guest
I always thought that the beauty of herbs was to enhance the good stuff, kill the bad stuff without the side effects of pharmaciticqls. If this is not the case, why are we doing herbals in the first place. If I thought for one minute that Total Tonic destroyed the good stuff in my gut, I would just flush it all down the toilet and just drink Bragg's 3x a day, swallow organic chopped up garlic once or twice a day and sprinkle on a little cayenne on my food. It's not like Total Tonic is easy to make. First unless you grow your own stuff, you have to shop for fresh organic ingredients. Wash them well, then grind all the ingredients into a gallon jar, add RAW ACV and put in the pantry. Then stir the mixture 2x a day with a wododen spoon and after 30 days, separate the liquid and freeze the left over pulp. Put the liquid in brown qt bottles in the bottom of the pantry with the door closed. Anne TX
Guest guest
Hey Gayla, Do you think kefir or kombucha is more beneficial to you? I have been making coconut kefir with just coconut water. I like the store bought kombucha but haven't tried making it at home yet. Do you have an opinion about the benefits of one over the other? Do you take them both because you just like them both? Thanks for your input! All opinions welcome. Peace on earth. Cheryl Re: Re: total tonic and other stuff But if total tonic is an antibiotic, doesn't it kill the good flora as well? Guest guest
I don't really know Cheryl. I sort of alternate as the mood strikes me. Sometimes I go for a long time without either, then I crave kefir or kombucha and start again. Now that my doe in in milk, I am drinking kefir like no tomorrow. I just got over a bad case of food poisoning (took our neighbor out for Mother's Day and I got really sick), so I am surviving on kefir. If you want to do both, play it by ear. Your body will tell you what it wants. Gayla Bob and Gayla Always Enough RanchAcampo, CA Re: Re: total tonic and other stuff Hey Gayla, Do you think kefir or kombucha is more beneficial to you?
