Guest guest
Thanks Anne. He was weaned to Avoderm and we got him at 8 or 10 weeks old. He didn't have any shots after that, but he has had this armpit thing pretty much his whole life and back and forth the vets for it (holistic and otherwise). Even the holistic vet never suggested a cleanse, but I can certainly speak to him. Corgis take no grooming as far as clippers go, except nails. His current vet is one of the best in the country. He is a Chinese herbal vet, actually went there to study. He's had this dog on so many herbs I think I have some growing in my yard! However, it does seem to heal up when the weather cools down. Maybe it's allergies instead of candida? Or can allergies bring on candida? Thanks all for your input - Shari

Guest guest
Shari - This may be something to think about: I've got a family member that is very allergic to corn and anything made from corn. If he eats anything " corn " , he will literally go into anaphylaxis - this includes anything with high fructose corn syrup, too. About 5 years ago, he was visiting a family member who lives on a farm, and ate a breakfast of an omelet that contained 3 or 4 eggs. The guy almost died. My aunt raised those chickens that laid the eggs that went into the omelet, and they were free range except for the corn she threw out a couple of times a week for the chickens to eat. You can tell a corn fed chicken because of how dark yellow or orange the yolks will be. Anyway, the chickens were fed corn, cousin ate the eggs from the corn fed chickens, ended up in the hospital. Even though your dog is eating eggs and meat, maybe it's the grains those animals are eating that is causing the dog's problems. Just a thought and I have absolutely no idea of a dog would be as sensitive as a human would be, but I don't see why not. A dog I owned for 13 years was certainly a lot smarter than a lot of people I know :-) At 07:14 AM 9/24/2008, you wrote: >Thanks Anne. He was weaned to Avoderm and we got him at 8 or 10 >weeks old. Guest guest
Nope, no corn. No grains, no additives, no preservatives, just raw chicken, turkey, or rabbit. The entire animal gets ground up (I'm assuming minus the feathers/fur.) S
Guest guest
We used to call them “hot spots” at the vet I worked for, which is fitting. I think your thought about allergies is absolutely right on spot Shari J If it is really bothering him after you have tried some other suggestions, I will call my sister up and ask her for you. She is an excellent veterinarian in California.
