Guest guest
> Drinking water is important, but many folks think " liquid " instead > of water. Most juices are a fair equivalent, but coffee, sodas, tea > are NOT a substitute. The caffeine actually dehydrates you. ~~~~~Oh, I hear you. When I talk about how much water I drink a day, that's EXACTLY what I mean - I don't count my tea in the morning (herbal - no caffeine), or anything else. Only the water. I also don't do a whole lot of sipping throughout the day - I drink the glass down! I liken it to flushing a toilet - you wouldn't try to do that by tossing in a teaspoonful of water, would you? So, at least 3 times a day, I chug 18 oz. of water. The 24 oz. bottles go more in segments, but still not really sipping. And I generally have two of those. Same > with the famous thirst quencher, beer. Alcohol dehydrates you. ~~~~~Yeppers, that's a fact! And I never thought beer was much of a thirst quencher, it just happens to taste really good after I've mowed the lawn in the summer! (I still don't drink beer very often). My neighbor pours herself a half glass of water at > dinner and takes a few sips at best. I bet mentally she counts this > as a glass of water. ~~~~~~Yes - I know a few folks like that. I guess if that's how they want to approach their health, it's okay, but I'm AWFUL glad they aren't planning MY day!! > > Russians are know as drinkers, and rightly so. I heard a Russian man > (on the Super Stars of Dance show) recently say " Everyone thinks we > drink vodka first thing in the morning. Not true! Sometimes we drink > cognac! " ~~~~~LOL!!! Happens I saw that very moment!! Sadly, I've known many people who might've made similar statements, and not been joking. Seems a strange way to use your life experience, to me. The Russians were ready to give up Christianity and convert > the nation to Islam but the heads of Islam would not give them a > dispensation to drink. True! ~~~~~Well, if you're going to do a thing, REALLY do it!! But recent studies in Russia using milk > thistle for terrible cases of cirrhosis (SP?) showed very marked > improvement. So the liver can heal itself if allowed to do so. > > Gayla ~~~~~I think the whole body can heal itself, if that effort/intention is thoughtfully supported. Barring, of course, losing a limb. Seems we would need to be tutored by the sea stars for a while to learn how to accomplish that one! Ev
