Guest guest
Not Privately please. My daughter is 16yrs. I am hoping to convince her that it is unnecessary. No long term studies etc. I did read it was only really worth while before they become sexually active. I am not convinced it is really worth it at all and with no history of Cervical ca in the family unneccessary. Please can I have some arguements for this? in NZ On Thu, 26 Feb 2009 21:17:18 -0000, " Rik " <bliksemskater@...> wrote: > hello all, i'm asking some advice on cervical cancer vaccination, i'm > asking for a friend's daughter who is about to make a decision if she > wants to do this vaccination. apperently this is a new thing in > holland, girls are lined up for shot against cervical cancer, i'm not > feeling good about this and need some feedback from you guys, hope to > hear from you, either on this group or perhaps private, you can email > me at bliksemskater@... > > thanks, rik

Guest guest
I have not heard good things about it. I know there can be negatives to all vaccines, but this one looks worse than normal. Gayla

Guest guest
From me in NZ, I showed my daughter the video links. She had her talk at school yesterday. It was a very much "If you don't get this you die" talk. she was well enough imformed to sit and snort and has offered to pass around the information to her friends that are not comfortable with it but would like an arguement and some solid reasoning why not. Thank you all. in NZ Thank you everyone for responding to my post (O: i will forward this to my girlfriend and her sister who also has got to decide for her child, i just got off the phone with her and told her i would send this to her also, so thanks for the very useful advice and have a great day, toodles, rik .. Yes I am one of the one's that got HPV, and I feel like people should ALSO be aware of peoples opinions who are on the other side of the fence. Not discarded because I don't " fit " into the major consensus of the vaccinations. That to me, is like with holding pertinent information from the majority, coming from a woman who ended up with high grade pre cancerous dysplasia. Your " protecting " people from another opinion is like playing big brother? If I don't see this one posted, or at least a poll asking members if they feel they should have ALL information pertaining to this, Then I will gracefully bow out of this group, and find one that is concerned with ALL opinions, not just the ones that you agree with as moderators. Guest guest
Karly, I have not seen any post from you. When did you send it?? There would be no reason to exclude it unless it was against policy... like x rated ads, politics, religion, etc... (you know).. Suzi List Owner health/ http://360./suziesgoats What is a weed? Guest guest
So, Karly are you saying this vaccine is a good thing? I had HPV when I was 19 and am now 59. No way in you-know-where will I get that vaccination. In fact I didn't vaccinate my kids back in the '80s. Funny thing too, no one ever challenged me about it and they went to public school. I got more flack over not vaccinating the dog than I over not vaccinating the kids! Re-post or write me directly. I'd really like to read what was censured. Guest guest
My post finally made it through just moments ago. All of my opinions are stated in it. And yes, when it comes to such a vague and silent cancer, that has absolutely no symptoms, I say yes, it is worth the shot versus worth the pain and fear that I have, and am going through. It also is a rapid cancer. It also can move to your organs and nodes, etc before you even have a hint that something might be wrong with you. A very silent, non symptomatic killer. Miss one pap and it may already be too late. Have your yearly paps and it might already be too late! So I AM saying that this vaccine, versus this virus/cancer, is a good thing when you weigh the facts. And I am very choosy when it comes to these things too...I will not ever have the flu shot, it is only the flu! Now I did get my dogs parvo shots, and I am very happy that I did, as someone room~mated where I lived at the time, and I watched her 3 dogs, and the owners dogs die from parvo. So like anything else, it's such a personal choice to decide what we think is needed or important to us and our families, including the furry ones! karly On 3/2/09, SV <shavig@...> wrote: So, Karly are you saying this vaccine is a good thing? I had HPV when I was 19 and am now 59. No way in you-know-where will I get that vaccination. In fact I didn't vaccinate my kids back in the '80s. Funny thing too, no one ever challenged me about it and they went to public school. I got more flack over not vaccinating the dog than I over not vaccinating the kids!  Re-post or write me directly. Guest guest
Your post came and I have read it. I think has some lines crossed because I wrote my post long before yours and mine came in after!
