Guest guest
This is one of the bandster " tricks " - the cold water seems to fill you and also to close down the stoma a bit. However, If you're already very tight, you obviously do not want to do this! If you are very tight, try the opposite- drink a cup of hot tea before a meal to relax and loosen the stoma. The cold water (or any water, really) right before a meal is called " water-loading " and can be very helpful. it also lubricates your mouth and throat so you don't miss drinking with meals asa much - but it's still impt. to have very moist foods, as dry things (chicken, dry scrambled eggs, dry meats or salmon, etc) can stick. Sandy R > I know we aren't supposed to drink with meals, or for about an hour after. Dan emailed he drinks cold water up till meal time. Never thought of that! Good idea!!
