Guest guest
<<I bought some yesterday and on the bottle it says to refriderate after opening..does that mean that anything I made with it will have to be refridgerated? >> You don't need to refrigerate it. I keep mine in my entry way or basement which tends to stay about 68 degrees year round. I get the same shelf-life (about a year) out of it as those who refrigerate. Guest guest
Avocado oil!!! Can one buy that or is it only in a whole avocado? I've never seen it at my health food store. Just curious. [ ] avocado oil Bee, I am so relieved I can have tomatoes again, thank you so much! :-) Regarding avocado oil, here are the nutrition facts: -saturated fat 3 g - polyunsaturated fat 1 g - monounsaturated fat 10 g -cholesterol 0 g -vitamin E 11% (amount per serving, 1 tbsp) I have compared it to olive oil and it is quite similar, so I'm wondering... Guest guest
If you can't find avocado oil at your health store, sesame seed oil or other nut oils are also okay, providing you are taking enough Omega 3 to balance out their high Omega 6 content. Guest guest
> > While I am getting my VCO and fat intake in general back up, would it be ok to have avocado oil? I find myself going as high as 110 grams of protein some days because I am so hungry and the amount I should be eating is 76 grams. What about sunflower oil and grapeseed oil just temporarily - I know they are not good for you in large quantities, but how about in the interim until my fat intake is where it needs to be from animal fats, VCO, palm oil, and olive oil? ==>You could increase the amount of extra virgin olive oil, and if you want to take other oils ensure they are cold or expeller pressed, untoasted, unroasted, and unfiltered. Sesame seed oil is okay. ==>When carbs are lowered too quickly without increasing good fats it causes you to be more hungry. You might have to add some carbs back into your diet on a temporary basis. It would probably satisfy you more to have buckwheat pancakes with butter. Also try taking vitamin C when you feel hungry. Bee

I was basically living on tons of protein (160 to 180 grams), about 80 to 100 grams of fat and either no or very few carbs. Usually no more than 15 or 20 grams. Now I am eating around 40 to 50 and 50 is my upper max. :-) But I am eating them in the form of veggies. a
