It's the muscle/nerves that run the length of the foot. Look it up on the web for more info. That's what I did when my homeopath suggested that might be my problem after I described what was going on. For me, the BEST prescription is rest, but my homeopath said it would resolve itself in time. I've already had the condition for more than a month. As another poster mentioned, an adjustment might help. Bobbett

Guest guest
Sometimes, and sometimes if I've been sitting at the computer all day! The reason it is so perplexing to me is because I can't really pin down what is the cause. But even if it was from standing all day, would that indicate a hairline fracture or some such thing? If there were actual pain, I could at least identify the point of the problem. I am perplexed. swollen foothealth Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 1:24 AM Hi Team,I have a reaccuring (sp?) problem with my right foot swelling up. Guest guest
Does it seem to be more in the joint or in the muscle/bone? Is there any discoloration? What's your water intake like? You say there is no actual pain, but any feeling of pressure or ache? Guest guest
Hi and Suzi, Thanks to both of you for responding! My fluid intake is pretty steady. I tend to drink a lot of fluids. I stopped all dairy the end of Spring so I basically drink water and teas. I also was drinking a lot of sparkling water but have stopped that because of the sodium and carbonation. I do have feelings of pressure and have noticed my achilles (sp?) tendon is very tender! I know this may be a long shot, but I am wondering if this could be from a lack of stretching and/or exercise. I sit all day in front of a computer and wonder if being in the sitting position without any stretching to maintain flexibility is creating the problem. I wanted to get some opinions before I start walking or stretching because I don't want to aggravate the swelling. By the way, , there is no discoloration. Thanks again to both of you. Peace on earth. Cheryl Re: swollen foot ..
Guest guest
When I don't have a clue: Nettle tea internally and hot castor oil packs externally. I've got one person I deal with who has ankle swelling associated with a floating disc (sheared off bone fragment in his foot) and doing more than the usual amount of work. Comfrey and DMSO poultices help with that but I've been unable to get him to take the comfrey for an extended amount of time thinking that would fix it long term. I have no idea if that relates to what's going on with you hence the castor oil pack and nettle tea idea. If it does deal with a lack of exercise, check out Sonnon's Intuiflow (or intuflow) youtube videos. He has a great understanding of joint rotations and maintaining joint mobility utilizing what he learned from the Russians. I think the methodology he's teaching is a revolution (haha even though the pun was unintended) in maintaining a high quality of life as we age. An energy based modality (reiki, polarity therapy, chi kung) might be able to help a lot on a mystery flare up like this.
Guest guest
Have any of you heard about SCIO Resonance Biofeedback? I've been going to a chiropractor who uses this for several months now...and have never been healthier. I've even quit taking my vitamins because my body just doesn't want them anymore. I even take my dog! I do still take her to the vet every six months for a HW test because I don't give flea/tick/HW preventative, but she always tests negative and this biofeedback thing fixes whatever imbalances she may have in the meantime. Me, too! Check it out... http://www.quantumwellness.ca/about_quantum_biofeedback.html Sharyn -----Original Message----- From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of prayerfulmantis When I don't have a clue: Nettle tea internally and hot castor oil packs externally. Guest guest
Okay, your intake is good. That's good. But what about your output? Are you putting out as much (or close to as much) as you are taking in? You hint at a caution of sodium, which was going to be my next question. Do you avoid it in other areas as well? How's your potassium intake? Another thing I'm thinking is circulation. Are you experiencing any circulation issues in your other extremities? Any cold-ness associated with the swelling? If it is sodium, your fluid output will be diminished, and potassium (like celery sticks) should help. If it is circulation, low impact movement/stretching should help. With the occasional cayenne of course. You may have bruised your achillis tendon, which would cause swelling. Is it tender to the touch, or sore with movement? Is it an ache, a burning sensation, or a sharp sting? In this case I'd try at least hot/cold treatment. DTR and/or BFC if you have them. Keep us posted, and we'll keep pounding our brains. Guest guest
Hi , Yes, my output is good. I don't take in much salt at all, but I think I do need to up my potassium. One of my favorite juices is celery, apple, and cucumber, so I will make sure I get that in a few times a week! No other circulation issues. My achilles tendon is tender to the touch and has a burning sensation so will try hot/cold treatment. By the way, what is DTR and BFC? The swelling is way down the last 2 days, but not sure why! (I am back on high vit c and msn doses but don't know if that is what is helping.) Wow, I'm tired just thinking about all of this! Thanks so much for your input, . This repeated swelling has got me really perplexed and most curious about the underlying cause. Hope all is well with you and yours! Peace on earth. Guest guest
Sorry, DTR is Deep Tissue Repair, and BFC is Bone, Flesh and Cartilage formula. The acronyms are what I've been calling "HAWK-speak". Both are in the files, and from personal experience really do work. The hot/cold therapy is only a band-aide, however. It will relieve symptoms, but not the cause.Does the swelling ever completely go away?I'll pass on your well-wishes to the family. We are all doing great! and I are going to be bachelors next week, Marilyn is going to CA for a week to see her ailing mom and visit family. And starts school tomorrow, 7th grade. I'm more nervous than he is.Keep us posted on the foot issue!Peace, love, laughter Hi , Yes, my output is good. I don't take in much salt at all, but I think I do need to up my potassium.
