Member of Parliament from Wales said this: " Although the FSA [uK

FDA] says that the safety of this product has already

been established, the fact that a fresh scoping study is being carried out

points to

concern about this product.

" I welcome this new investigation and look forward to seeing what conclusions

are drawn by the FSA. It is disappointing that results will not be available

until 2011 but nonetheless it is a positive step forward by the FSA.

" In recent years I have done significant work on these chemical compounds and

they can have profoundly damaging effects. "

This is brilliant, long overdue, as well as legislatively, medically and legally

appropriate. Given that Venezuela has banned Coke Zero because it contains

aspartame and acesulfame K, I wonder what has taken so long in the UK. Great

insights coming from a real leader like , MP, Wales, should have

been listened to 3 and a half years ago when he first circulated the shocking

Early Day Motion on the Neurotoxic Properties of Aspartame, signed by 47 members

of the UK Parliament.
