This bears reading, and if you are so inclined, writing to paper and it's idiot

author to give them a your opinion. It's the uninformed speaking to the

uneducated that really chip away at our rights and freedoms.

The following quote appears at the end of this article from LA Times:

It's a crazy bind, says State University of New York's Arthur Grollman, who has

called on Congress to further tighten regulation of supplements. " With the FDA,

it's all about the risk-benefit ratio. And with supplements, as best we can

tell, there is not a single supplement shown to have a significant beneficial

effect on humans, " says Grollman. " But if you don't know the benefit, you don't

have a ratio. "
