Guest guest
I sent this earlier this morning but it hasn't show up so am re-sending. I sent it earlier than other posts that have shown up so I am wondering where it went ott to. --- Anxiety Date: Sat, 13 Jun 2009 10:32:28 -0500 From: Pam Norman <pam_norman@...> health I have had problems with anxiety, sometimes severe, over the past 20 years. I've been on a variety of things for it, starting back in the 90s with St s Wort, then went off that & when things got back too Imipramine. That made my heart do weird things so went off that. Some time after that I was on Paxil for a while - went on & off that for some time & then off for good & was off everything for quite a while. Then a couple of years ago after bad anxiety I went on Lexapro. Whether it was the Lexapro or self - education & working with it, I decided to drop Lexapro this past February - especially after a copay of $50!!!!!!!! Now I am having really bad anxiety again. Wakes me up in the night & is there first thing in the morning. Any little stresses in my life seem to bring it about. Before I go back on Lexapro for sure, I wanted to know what you all , any of you who have the same problem , do. I have Lyme & have been looking at Astralagus & see that it has anti-anxiety abilities so I've been considering trying that. Any ideas? Guest guest
This link is working for me: http://centerpointe.com/ This is Bill and his Holosync program. The first, " beginner " level is fairly inexpensive, the program does get expensive once you go past the beginner level and buy more CD's - but, the program is worth it's weight in gold, IMO. Holosync is absolute best meditation CD set I have, and I've got approx. $3000 invested in different CD products like this (Learning Strategies, Howell, etc.) If you follow the program as outlined, and do the minimum 3 month beginners level, which consists of listening to " The Dive " for 30 minutes for two weeks, then listening to " The Dive " and " Immersion " for one hour a day for the next 3 months, you will find that amazing things happen to your thought processes and your emotions. Good things, at least it was for me. I recommend Holosync highly. At 08:49 AM 6/14/2009, you wrote: Kevlin, I can't find this. First I got some appartments in Bangkok, then a phone switching system!. Guest guest
The only thing that Centerpointe says is to make sure you have stereo headphones, but to be honest I doubt they come any other way nowadays. I just said Bose because they are the most reasonable priced noise cancelling headphones and honestly, mine aren't even the noise cancelling ones, they just seem to work that way. They are not earbuds, they go over my ears. Mine were $89. Shari
Guest guest
Well heck, if I could find a pair of Bose for that, I'd buy them! Guest guest
breathing and motion! i completely agree! exercise always help release the underlying stress as well. anxiety is like pressure building up... the anxiety attack is the release of that pressure b/c the body can no longer suppress it. at least that's MY interpretation of it. breathing certainly helps... motion... regualar exercise DEFINITELY should benefit you. just my 2cents! Guest guest
Jen, I am on Gleevec also and have terrible anxiety. It comes out of no where, the chest will start to get tight and then I start with like inside shakes. I take a 1mg xanax mid morning and try not to take one in the afternoon and then one at 8pm to help me calm down to sleep. I was on a anti-depressant for like 10 yrs for the control of migraines and my old oncologist stopped me cold turkey back in Dec. and that's when the anxiety started.  I have a new onc. now and he put me back on it to control the migraines and to gain back some much needed weight and to help me sleep. I lost 32lbs when other dr. took me off. I was previously on high dose of Elavil but now can't get past 60mgs with out getting a headache(odd, it controls the migraines). So we are going slow with it. But I don't like to take the xanax but I shake and get the tightness in my chest, I have tried to do something to take my mind off of it or breathing exercises but it does not work.  I have never had anxiety in my life before!!!! My onc. tells me to use the xanax if I need to and not suffer with the shakes. I was diagnosed in March of 2009 and no anxiety until he stopped me on that med and now it's awful!!! I could handle everything else I think if i could control this anxiety. So if you find anything out please let me know. My e-mail is dallen145@....                                   Thanks, Dee ________________________________ From: <jms30@...> Sent: Fri, November 12, 2010 2:44:09 PM Subject: [ ] anxiety  Hi all. Has anyone had an increase in anxiety type symptoms since starting Gleevec? I have been on Gleevec since May of '09 but within the last 2 months, I have had an increase in anxiety. I haven't really found anything else that triggers it. Just a thought. Thanks, Jen

I found out that worrying does not make the situation any better.   I am going through some health issues along with financial issues, but taking it real slow.   I have to say that I pray a lot, and I do find peace in the fact that the Lord gets me through somehow. I am still here, and I am surviving.   I have been through it all for years, and if you ever want to get in touch with me I would be very glad to talk to you. Its suzzienovember@...  You Will Be Okay From: <jms30@...> Subject: [ ] anxiety Date: Friday, November 12, 2010, 2:44 PM  Hi all. Guest guest
When I was on Gleevec, I would just stumble around sobbing when I wasn't sleeping. I had about two good hours in the evening when the clouds would lift and I would think, " Gee, isn't life great? " An anti-depressant didn't help. Someone in this group supplied a link to a story about Gleevec and depression, how it was particularly resistant to treatment, and that really got the ball rolling for me. Up to that point I thought I was bound to live out my days in this creepy state. To cut to the chase, I am on Tasigna now and I feel pretty good. I feel like I got a second shot at a real life!
