Guest guest
I'm MOSTLY vegetarian/vegan when I go into that " mode, " but I'm an equal opportunity " healthy " eater opportunist. I know, " healthy " is relative. I have been experimenting with different systems of diet and could go vegetarian fairly easily... even alkaline just as easily (although, I'd miss my carbs/sugars a bit). Going raw vegan, well, that's a bit more than I'd like to do. Anyway, I (tortured) deep fried chia b/c I wanted to use an alternative to flour or some other starch that typically doesn't have much nutritional value. I've been experimenting with chia in all kinds of foods - GREAT superfood, btw. Surprise! I'm not strictly any diet, but I am predominantly a veggies person. A little meat isn't so bad, as long as it's quality meat and in moderation relative to my intake for the month. I LOVE diversity in my foods (that transcend any specific food category) and when I began exploring health, I made it one of my criteria to not be exclusive to any one system. My search (research) became more about learning the fundamentals to optimal health. I'm very fortunate to have learned about and experimented with eat raw, alkaline, and now gluten-free. I am very happy to have connected with conscious, smart eating people like you and our peers in this group and a few others I've found online. I no longer feel alone! Sad but true, my family and friends thought I was going through some fad or phase, then they started thinking I was a " health nut, " the way I carried on about the benefits and wonders of the new health I discovered for myself - and how I attained that. When I began to notice my sleeping patterns change (or appeared to have), I began " journalling " my progress to help get more tangible feedback on my health. This logging has definitely helped me spot trends and better understand how my body reacts/is when I do or eat xyz, abc. here's a sample if anyone's interested in keeping a simple log of progress for their health: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rgHXNHnEqTi1Gp9pHtbyYjQ example of my data - charted! http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rD4thkSQtA_SmbcJncHAeqA & oid=39 & output=ima\ ge note: energy level at 5 is awake, not sleepy, but not energized, not tired. > 5 .. 10 is degrees of vivacity; < 5 .. 1 is degrees of tiredness there's more you can do to chart your progress (if you wanted to get an idea of progress/trend), as well as chart different aspects of personal metrics. anyway... as I always say (borrowed from AR): We cannot effectively manage what we do not measure! have a great weekend!
