I agree with you!

I think that the family is afraid. This is sad because it shows that the fear of our state and government has strong hold and contol over the public. Those who make you afraid have control. This has to stop. I wish they would have appealed this. Now that the state has one, it puts our efforts farther behind. I wanted to see them fight this as I'm sure everyone did. This is a horrible step in the wrong direction of our government and state getting away with to much contol. What I want to know, is how many are willing to stand up to force used against you? FEAR IS THE PROBLEM! I wrote letters and tried to support as well. I am willing to do this for anyone who is willing to fight.

Joy is correct. Fear is the basis for any government entities being able to ride "rough-shod" over the public. Both State and Federal Governments have instilled such levels of fear in the entire population that governments know they have us all "cowed." I have no idea how the public rids itself of such fear once it has been instilled. I feel as though the public allowed itself to be totally and completely duped and "conned."

I, too, spent countless hours behind the scenes, researching and corresponding with one of the family spokespersons. That included the forwarding of many articles after an initial phone conversation which lasted well over an hour. I continue to do research and gather evidence on the off chance there may still be an appeal. I have chosen not to go public with my views for two reasons: 1) I do not desire public notoriety, and 2) I feel I can do more good behind the scenes; particularly if I desire to have any chance of having an Amicus Brief accepted by the Court. I am convinced that I must remain as neutral as possible because if there were even the slightest hint of bias there would be virtually no chance at all that an Amicus Brief would be accepted by the Court.

Ingrid was also extremely helpful in my quest for information and resources even while she was working against impossible deadlines in her own business.

Ruth, I am not impressed with the Hauser's attorney at all! Money issues may have played a role, but in a case like this where your child's health and life is at stake, an immediate appeal would have bought them more time to prepare a PROPER evidence-based defense. A religious exemption works with vaccination, but here it was used to portray the parents as some religious nutcases. What irks me most is that Colleen Hauser virtually had to compromise her religious beliefs to keep custody of her child (reported in one newspaper that she told the judge that "she set her religious beliefs aside"). I dare say that their attorney failed them miserably. One cannot base a defense on religion (it never worked with the Jehovah Witnesses either), all that counts in a case like this is scientific evidence - substantiated by ethical scientists and researchers - that chemo not only destroys cancer cells (which is debatable) but also every living cell in your body and actually causes cancer, which has been amply documented in scientific literature. It seems that the nitwit of their lawyer was too lazy to do some proper research in this respect. Judges are generally scientifically illiterate and can only base their decision on the evidence presented and if none is submitted debunking the oncologist's claim (preferably by expert witnesses) that the child would die without chemo, then he had no choice but to rule in favor of the Mengele clones.

Joy is correct. Fear is the basis for any government entities being able to ride "rough-shod" over the public. Both State and Federal Governments have instilled such levels of fear in the entire population that governments know they have us all "cowed." I have no idea how the public rids itself of such fear once it has been instilled. I feel as though the public allowed itself to be totally and completely duped and "conned."

I, too, spent countless hours behind the scenes, researching and corresponding with one of the family spokespersons. That included the forwarding of many articles after an initial phone conversation which lasted well over an hour. I continue to do research and gather evidence on the off chance there may still be an appeal. I have chosen not to go public with my views for two reasons: 1) I do not desire public notoriety, and 2) I feel I can do more good behind the scenes; particularly if I desire to have any chance of having an Amicus Brief accepted by the Court. I am convinced that I must remain as neutral as possible because if there were even the slightest hint of bias there would be virtually no chance at all that an Amicus Brief would be accepted by the Court.
