Yes, this is exactly my concern. I have applied some oil, but I didn't see much difference.

In reference to elimination, I wonder what to eliminate from my diet. I'm a vegetarian, I eat mostly raw fruits and vegetables, some whole grains, plain water, and I don't take drugs of any kind, no even aspirin.

Re: The skin of my hands

I would be more concerned with what caused my hands to be that way before I started applying stuff. Coconut oil is about as far as I'd go until I did some food eliminating.

Well, no really much although I wash dishes by hand, but I rarely use soap. In the past I used a lot of vinegar and also in the past I had several allergic reactions after touching old papers and so on. However, I could never identify the culprit.

The skin of my hands

Hello,

Perhaps someone has any idea about my problem.

Although my skin looks fine, unblemished, smooth, without wrinkles, etc., the skin of my hands is rather dried and rough. This happens since a long time ago, and the right hand more than the left one.

My hair and nails are also in excellent condition.

Any idea what would be the reason for my hands to be dried and rough, and what can I do to improve it?

Happy new year,

Rena

Maybe start by eliminating the grains and work it from there.

Are you able to fast? I would fast (water) for a couple days and then add back in food one thing (one food item for at least 3 days before adding another) at a time and when there is a reaction then you'll know what the cause is.

I drink ACV, but don't use it for my hands. No, lately I have not been handling papers.

Whenever I recommend or do a foot-soak, I try to work in ACV. The same

with hands. I personally like the aroma, though some don't. But it

does dissapate quickly. And it really does help.

Ev, it seems you mention an allergic reaction when handling papers in

the same sentence as using ACV. Did you have the same reaction with

papers without or when you weren't using ACV?

Also, what's the weather like? I can't at the moment remember where

you live. Is it " high and dry " or " low and moist " ? I know that

pineapple and papaya are great for skin health due to the enzymes

contained. When we lived in Denver, we ate them daily because the air

was so dry. And, way back in the " before time " , when we went camping

here in CA, we would as well.

There are lots of " things " that we can put on, as a bandaid as it

were. But getting to the underlying issue may be of more benefit.

Hope my ramblings help. Let's keep this discussion going!

Bless you, ! But 'twere not m'self who originally posted about the

hands issue, including handling papers. My biggest worry is paper cuts due

to inherent clutziness!!

Still, I'm an ex-neighbor, in NM, where even in the river valley, I'd have

to categorize us as " high and dry " . And most any hand lotion is okay,

providing I remember to use it. !!

How you doon, anyhow?! Give Guido a wink and a nudge...

I live in Florida.

I didn't notice any improvement using ACV, or oil.

In the past I had some episodes of allergy after touching old papers or other things, but no now.

I'm trying to figure out the root of this problem, but I can't find it.
