Guest guest
I know that a fast would be beneficial, but have nothing on the steroids except what you already know. Now here's the crux, I've been doing strictly juice for 30 days (strained even after coming out of the juicer.) The constant that I take in every day is: 2 pounds of greens 1 whole head of celery 2 cucumbers Then I add in whatever it is I want to make 4 quarts of pure juice, no fiber. Okay, the good news is I lost 15.5 pounds. Bad news is, I haven't accomplished much in the way of alleviating the pain in my shoulder (probably arthritis, but don't do doctors), nor has it made any impact on the general weakness on my right side. I'm sure if I could do the full 92 days that is recommended I would have a great deal more gains in the health field. I am going to ask my naturopath to do my cholesterol readings next Wednesday to see if it has made any impact on my numbers. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is don't expect miracles with a couple days of juicing and enemas (which I was doing one every morning for 30 mornings). With what you are dealing with I would consult with a fasting expert. Doug Graham comes to mind www.foodnsport.com You can have an initial consultation for $25 from him (it's under "shop" partway down the page). Hope this helps a bit and isn't too hard to swallow. I know I expected a lot more on 30 days of juice, but hey it took me 60 years to get where I am! I'll do a longer fast in the future. Guest guest
Shari, have you tried a combination of celery seed/turmeric/bromelain/cherry for what might be arthritis? My dh uses it in a capsule form called Go-Out (he started taking it because he would get gout attacks periodically, but it’s useful for all types of arthritis and inflammation). Guest guest
No I have not, but will investigate. We have a wonderful supplements store just down the street from us Seattle Super Supplements. They carry everything except the one by Oreganol that I was taking for inflammation. A rep gave me a bottle of it as a sample at a show and I've not found it in any stores and it's quite pricey over the net. I will look into this as an alternative. Thanks for the info. That's why I love this group! Someone always has an answer!!! Guest guest
Oh, Candace, I'm so sorry you're in such a state! You are indeed on some real poisons. For your adrenals, there's a great supplement called ADRENergize (www.enzy.com). That website is admirable, and there are many other good things on there, too, including Resveratrol-forte. Another remarkable supplement: Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol ~ avoid D2 ergocalciferol!!) ~ we're just discovering that we are ALL severely deficient in D, and that there is hardly a disease process around that can't be helped by taking AT LEAST 5000 IU of D3 per day. A great article for the details you need in order to 'do it right' is here: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/10/10/Vitamin-D-Experts-\ Reveal-the-Truth.aspx (link, don't fail me now!!). I work in an independent pharmacy, and we all take these supplements ourselves. We really do believe in them. Yes, our bread and butter may be the poisons peddled by Big Pharma, but I love my boss for steering people toward natural remedies whenever she can. I will talk to my pharmacists (I'm a technician) on Monday and see if I can supply you with some steroid-weaning info (adrenal-cortex supplements are naturally-derived steroids, whereas pharmaceutical corticosteroids are the synthetic trash, replete with awful side-effects, as I'm sure you know). Take care in the meantime! Judy > > Alright... I think i might be going a little crazy and I need your guys' expert opinions!!! > > For those who don't know, I have Lupus (SLE). Dr has me on steroids that I can't seem to wean off of. If I go below 15mg my joints swell up and go apeshmuck. > I'm on Plaquenil (yuck) which isn't working so he doubled my dose yesterday. > And I'm on Methotrexate (TRIPLE yuck!) that I take once a week and knocks me on my butt for 3 days. I can't get out of bed and I hurt all over and it SUCKS! My teeth hurt. My vision goes down the crapper. It is KILLING ME ...
Guest guest
Gosh i am so out of touch/havent logged in for months. Candace Sweetie - i am so sorry to hear about the Lupus diagnosis and your further dilema with all the stuff they have you on. I dont have any info to offer, besides much has already been offered; but will at least keep you in prayer and in hopes that you find the right solution for you. Sylvia > > Alright... I started on 300mg and in 2 months I've jumped that much because it's getting WORSE! And I'm starting to get rashes. From the meds? Or the lupus? Who knows!? > > Anyways... I'm going crazy. I feel like I'm gonna die most days, have NO energy and I know these meds are messing me up good. My joints are so weak I can barely pick up a box of envelopes at work. It's messing with my job, my home life, I have NO social life.... > I was planning to wait til this flareup stopped and then start the Gerson Therapy. > > Well I can't take it anymore. > > Here's where I need your opinion. Feel free to tell me that I'm losing my mind and this is a dumb idea. Enemas every 6 hours to clear toxins and get the meds out of my system. I have lots of herbs for inflammation and pain. Should I keep taking my steroids??? > > Any thoughts? I don't know what happens if you go off steroids when your body is dependent on them!? Would a juice fast help get my adrenals working again or would I end up laying in bed for a week unable to move again!?!? > > I don't know what to do. The lupus is killing me and the drugs are killing me and I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
