Orange juice video

The other day I watched a youtube (I think) video of a woman talking about how

orange juice has the oxygen removed and then has color and flavor added. I can

not find the link and my husband wants to watch it. If anyone knows where the

link was posted could you please let me know?

Don't know about that, but I do know it's boiled! No wonder people complain about acid stomach when they drink store bought oj, it's straight acid!

Get a cheap juicer and go to town. Electric citrus juicers are only about $20 and last for years. I make a quart a day minimum during orange season and have had the same juicer for 10 years.

I actually want to get a VitaMix but the money hasn't come my way for it yet,

LOL. We have a manual juicer that my husband uses on the weekend. We usually

only buy juice when we know we are heading North (no groceries nearby) or having

a bunch of company.

He knows that processsed isn't good but wanted to view this video.

The truth is that orange juice can stored for up to a year before being bottled and sold. The oxygen is removed from the juice to prevent it from going bad, which also removes essential flavor and aroma compounds. To make it taste like fresh orange juice again, flavor packs developed by flavor and fragrance companies are added back in later on.
