Guest guest
As many of you know my school burned down last May. This year we are in temporary quarters while they build us a new school. That's the good news. The bad news is everything is new! New furniture, new carpet, new paint.........the off-gassing is pretty intense and, of course, we have no windows that open (actually we have NO windows). Any suggestions to help me out. My room is probably 2,000 sq. ft. so my little personal air filter is not working very well. I'm going to ask the janitor if I can bring in our (we own a water restoration company) commercial ozone machine over the weekend. I'm thinking they will say no, but I can always try. In the mean time I've been exercising, eating all raw, using the sauna, rebounding, anything else to remove the toxins each night as much as possible? Or to ward off the intake of them? Thanks, Shari
Guest guest
On the ozone device: " It's easier to get forgiveness than permission. " EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to remove your sensativity to the toxins. Cilantro is great for sucking heavy metals out of your system, eat lots of that over a period of weeks. I don't know if it works on polyflouralnewconstructionary compounds or not. You could also go with a simple old fashion smudging of the place heavily with traditional herbs (watch the sage though, to the masses it smells like dope) or a good essential oil diffuser. Not sure which eo would work best for that application, seems like both lemon and orange are good detoxifiers/energetic cleaners. The crap would still be in the air but the boost from the smudge or EOs might help you deal with it better. Good luck.

Guest guest
Interesting, never thought to use EFT to remove the sensitivity. I'll have to look into that. I've done EFT but not on a regular basis to see any results. My naturopath said not to use the ozone machine because there are no windows to remove the ozone and it's a free radical. So I'll pass on that one. The smudging would be a good idea, but I'm never alone (well not for any length of time) and I would probably be fired on the spot for lighting a match in a school!!! But I might be able to get away with an electrical, herbal diffuser. And I have some spray sage, balacing concoction. I also ran into an energy healer today and she suggested I picture the room covered in plastic wrap, air tight. The floors, walls and ceiling with a pipe under the plastic running out through the wall taking all the toxins out that way. She said I should do it everyday for about 2 weeks and I don't have to recreate the visual everyday I can just stand in the room and declare "do the same as yesterday". Works for me! Thanks for the suggestions. I am more comfortable now and feel not quite so helpless. Shari
Guest guest
Yes, smudging in school could be dangerous to one's employment. My friend uses an electic essential oil diffuser. I saw a brilliant product at the store the other day, I forget the name but it was a spray smudge. They took the essential oils of the major traditional smudging herbs, mixed them with alky'hol, and put them in a mister. Got to love the creative envisionings that different energy workers use. A big plus is what you said about feeling empowered and not as helpless about the situation anymore. That's a huge shift. EFT works if we work it. Haven't had complete results every time but good results much of the time and great results occasionally. I tapped on my caffeine sensativity a few times and I haven't gone into any vomiting migraines since though occasionally I do get a headache with mild nausea. Mostly I stay away from caffeine and that helps the most.
Guest guest
I'm not sure how well this will work with truly toxic fumes, but I can tell you that this simple remedy works ~extremely~ well with unpleasant odors. I do it all the time during the winter when the house is all closed up. For a 2,000 sf area, I would simply use several bowls. That's it. Bowls of apple cider vinegar. They don't have to be large, and keep them uncovered (for obvious reasons!), but I'm here to tell you that they work wonders when my house is getting icky for whatever reasons. Again, particularly in the winter when it's all closed up and getting stuffy. That's usually when the dogs decide they needs must out-gas all night long, and the funk in the hallway is nearly visible. Oy! Such a simple wonder-worker! Guest guest
You bet. It's more off gassing of new carpet that is bothering me. Today the headache is milder than the last two days, but I tried to stay out of the room as much as possible. Found lots of busy work else where in the building and outside of the building quite a bit as well. S
