Yeah, my ginger pickles are just very thin sliced ginger sitting in seasoned rice vinegar. They soak it in very quickly. Partly I did it just to preserve the ginger, and because I like the Japanese vinegar-ginger they sell. But fermenting them with whey sounds good too. > An array of homemade pungent pickles in the fridge at all times-- >garlic, ginger, horseradish, etc--now that's good livin'... Yep ... that reminds me, I made some horseradish too ... much easier than I thought ... cheap too .. -- Heidi

Guest guest
Ginger, I haven't been writing you because I thought you'd left the group. I want you to know that, for what it's worth, I think of you every day. I wish I could share today's sunshine and breezes with you, and the sound of the birds. I wish I could have my morning coffee alongside you today. Best wishes, as always. Harper

Guest guest
Hi , I don't know where you are located, but if you have a " King Soopers " grocery store [ found in the specialized food section] or a Asian food store somewhere near by, you should be able to purchase some ready made crystallized ginger there. I love the stuff...as a kid, I used to eat it like candy! Yummm.... ; - ) Jefersea Re: [ ] Diet Cokes and such...aspartame? , I came to the same conclusion after reading numerous articles on artificial sweeteners. I¹ve also read many articles on how bad soda in general is. I used to drink quite a bit of Pepsi but then limited it to my once or twice a month trips to my favorite pizza parlor. Having osteopenia, I can¹t afford to loose any more bone and soda has been linked to bone loss. I don¹t eat a lot of sugar either and when I do it is sucanat, a minimally processed sugar cane. Since decreasing the sugar in my diet, I find I can¹t eat sweet things anymore. They just don¹t taste good. It is true that our taste buds change. Occasionally I get a craving for something carbonated so I put concentrated cherry juice in some club soda. Thanks for the Ginger Ale idea. I was just thinking about how I could make ginger ale out of real ginger and some sparkling water. a
Guest guest
Thanks, Jefersea. I have no problem buying it in my area, but it is very expensive and not as good as homemade! I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
, I don¹t know if it is any easier, but scraping it with a spoon is supposed to be easier than using a peeler. Then you could use a food processor to slice it. http://allrecipes.com/advice/coll/cooking/articles/478P1.asp After that is done, you can crystallize it, wrap it in plastic, pack it in a box and send me some. I¹ll let you know if I approve. a > And if anyone has any ideas on how to make crystallized ginger without > killing my hands in the process, I'd like to hear about it! Guest guest
Rogene, Thanks for asking. He said he didn't find any mold. To the eye, they looked like they didn't have any. What did he say about the mold in the article? I would be interested to know. He tried to get the entire capsule, but scraped and scraped and couldn't get a little section out. Approximately 2%. He said ( and I am praying this will happen) that my body should get rid of that part in a year. I made sure that he would remove them en bloc. He said he would try, but sometimes it is nearly impossible, as in my case. How are you doing? I hope you are feeling okay. I pray you have a complete recovery. You are such an asset to all of us here. Ginger > > Good to see you posting! . . . > > Did Dr. Melmed say anything about mold/capsules in > conjunction with saline implants? . . . Guest guest
Hi Ginger, I don't have the article hand. I think it was the one that quoted Zuckerman, Ilena, Dr. Melmed and another woman. He simply said that saline implants could have mold. He told me at one time that, in his experience, they hadn't found mold . . . However, I think his exam limited to the naked eye. . . Not the way to test! It sounds like he did a good job of cleanin you out though. It's not always possible to get everything . . .. It's just that we need surgeons who will try to do en bloc if possible, and to remove everything possible. . . and can be trusted to do so. My surgery is tomorrow. Basically a drive through. If it wasn't for the radioactive scan they do to find the sentinel lymph node, it would be very quick. The scan requires three hours though. I feel really good about it. I'm feeling great and ready to go! In the meantime, thanks for everyone's prayers! They means a lot to me! Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Guest guest
> Dear Bee, I've took natural Ginger cap three hours ago and can't stop blenching since then. Is that a sign of something? ==>Ginger is also antifungal so it will kill off candida. When candida is killed off it produces carbon dioxide which is Gas that causes belching. Guest guest
Hi April, It is not necessary to peal ginger root for this program. It is, however, necessary to cook it thoroughly before eating it. I is considered a vegetable. If you have any further cooking questions, please join Bee Recipe group for discussion: Recipes_For_Candida_Healing/ Nan B.
