Guest guest
I'll be interested to see what Bee says, but I take three capsules before bed. I don't know what mg mine are, but the label says to take two to six. Last night they didn't work, but they usually do. And they usually work well! > > How many capsules of white willow bark is it safe to take per day? > > There are 800mgs in two capsules. > > Thanks, Sharon > > > >

It should say the maximum amount that can be taken per day. For example: I have Solaray brand, which is 400 mg per capsule, and it states the Adult Dose is 3 capsules 4 times daily. It is best to take it with foods, even if you only have 1 poached egg with it. Bee
Guest guest
I'm just curious, what are the benefits of taking White Willow? If it's similar to asprin, do you take it to prevent blood clots or replace it with Bayer's Asprin that doctors recommend for a healthy heart? The doctor recently told my father that he should add Bayer's Asprin to his daily regime. Could he replace that with White Willow instead? Guest guest
My husband wants to use it for headaches. He's been using generic Tylenol. What type of pain are you taking it for? -Sharon I take it for pain and am surprised how well it works. -Kat > I'm just curious, what are the benefits of taking White Willow? Guest guest
Hip bursitis. My hip won't let me get comfortable so that I can stay asleep at night. When I take WWB, I sleep like a rock. I don't know how well it knocks out the pain in waking hours, but it certainly takes enough pain away for me to be sleep ALL NIGHT. :-) Bee recommended it. I bet it would work for headaches, too. > > My husband wants to use it for headaches. Guest guest
Looks like Bee does recommend it for headaches instead of Tylenol. Here's a thread I found: /message/57243 > > > > My husband wants to use it for headaches. However it isn't good for a healthy heart or any other symptoms since it is very toxic. Aspirin was originally made from White Willow Bark, but since then it is a totally synthetic version. White Willow Bark isn't toxic or damaging to the body like aspirin is. +++There are many foods and nutrients that keep the blood from clotting including garlic (1 crushed clove a day is all your father would need) and cod liver oil or fish oil plus vitamin A in the Summer when one gets enough vitamin D from sun exposure. He's been using generic Tylenol. +++Sharon, your husband can take White Willow Bark instead for headaches. It isn't toxic like Tylenol and other headache drugs. Guest guest
is white willow bark hard on the stomach like aspirin is? monique
Guest guest
Hi , White willow is a whole herb. It is completely natural. It isn't hard on the stomach or any of the other organs. I think it works better than over the counter meds like aspirin, tylenol, advil, or even Aleve, which I used to take every 12 hours for a few years. Other natural pain relievers are meadowsweet, MSM, EPA from fish or cod liver oil, spices from curry powders are natural anti-inflammatories. Hi Louise. MSM is not recommended on this group my friend, along with many other things you've posted. I like your enthusiasm to help, however this is not an Open Discussion Group where members become confused by many different recommends. It is important that you become familiar with the basis of this group and what is recommended. Guest guest
hWhite willow: White willow has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Although the analgesic actions of willow are typically slow-acting, they tend to last longer than aspirin. One double blind study found that a product featuring white willow effectively reduced osteoarthritis pain compared to placebo. Suzi List Owner health/ http://360./suziesgoats What is a weed?
