Candace, I've stored cloves in olive oil for several days when i need garlic oil or need it for ear infections... I usually put it in the fridge after about 2 days... it usually lasts me a couple weeks or so... i'll do some checking for you on the grocers version

Strange question to come out of hiding for but... Last time I posted I'd started juicing a lot. Switched to organic and raw about 90%. Lots of juice.Possibly too quickly because my gut very quickly swelled up like a beach ball, I ended up shooting pus out of my butt for 2 weeks in horrible pain, and ended up with septic arthritis.Could my health GET any better? Seriously. The

stones, swollen liver, and gastroparesis were all I could take. This has me at the end of my rope.I've been in so much pain there were 2 weeks Brock didn't go to school and I BARELY made it from my bed to the toilet and back again and that was IT. Since it was the job of a 7 year old to feed me for the past couple weeks most of the time besides the easy requests like "run and get mom a banana" or apple or whatever... he's been feeding me what he eats. NOT RAW! And he can't use my juicer, he's too little. : (I've been eating what he does: cereal and crackers and CRAP. Oh mom of the year award coming up for Candace.Anyways.....now that all the DRUGS that I had to go on from the Dr to keep from dieing at the moment started working and I'm back on my feet I have been eating INSANE --- IIIINSANE amounts of garlic. I wake up at night craving it so bad I'm shaking.A grocery store next to my house has an olive bar. One big

tray they use to set out every day is olive oil with tons of garlic cloves and hot peppers floating in it. I go and get a big tupperware of it and just go to town on it. I eat an entire thing of it a day, sometimes 1.5 containers. I counted the other day when i had 1/3 a container left and there were over 60 cloves in it. WOW I wasn't kidding. that's a lot of garlic. And I noticed an improvement as soon as I started eating it. The cravings aren't going down though, they're getting worse. Its all I think about. It's freaky. Anyways.....Well 2 days ago they stopped stocking it! I pouted the first day. Yesterday I started panicking and today I almost cried (I'll blame the percocet for that one) because I can feel myself getting worse again. My joints are filling up with crud, my gut is expanding, and all the nasty nasty horrid stuff that WAS flying out of my bowels is stopping. Whatever it is about that garlic olive oil pepper treat of mine that my

body was craving WAS doing wonders for me!I tried googling this topic and keep reading peoples warnings about storing things in olive oil and botulism - especially "root plants" like garlic. Well I don't think they cook it... it's CRUNCHY and hot. And I don't think there's anything in it but garlic peppers and the most delicious olive oil I've ever tasted......and if I can't buy it I want to make it! I think it's the only reason I'm getting better! And now I can't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyone ever done this before? Is there a trick to it to keep away botulism besides the obvious - keeping it refrigerated? Web sites I've looked at say even that won't stop botulism from forming in garlic and olive oil but then what does the grocery store do!?!?~Candace the babbler~------------------------------------
