Guest guest
The notes *are* good. Just have one question; The writer states, " ...if eye contact is fading, Vince recommends bringing it back by using folding hands as an NVI " . Could someone explain this procedure to me? Guest guest
Dana, Moria, Andy & others, please don't feel left out. I am absolutely in awe at the awsome amount of information in the FILES and the amount of time it must have taken you to put this together. You are really an inspiration. I live in such a rush that I only skimmed through the introductory e-mail I received when I first joined. I kind of knew there were files but relied on the daily e- mails for my information, not realizing that I could ask more intelligent questions if I read the FILES first. If it's not included there, It should be placed in the introductory message where even the dummies like me can't miss it. You never have seemed to mind answering the same basic questions over and over again, but I believe it's unfair to you. Thanks for your dedication to helping us. And I have help. I think Dana has been " at it " longer...... Her website is not in the FILES, but I certainly think of it as part of to the list's info. (She amy not see it this way LOL) http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/ She covers sooooo much ground-- all kinds of biomedical info plus educational legal and behavior issues (and more). Actually it would be good to add her URL somewhere in the welcome letter or the FAQ....... hummmm........ > You are really an inspiration. The " welcome " letter does (very mildly) suggest looking at the files in general, and also suggests a couple of specific files to read. A copy of it is below in case you would like to read it again now that you have had time to " settle in " here best wishes, Moria ============================================= Dear new subscriber, Welcome to the autism treatment list! We hope you will find help here, and feel at home. There are many parents of autistic children on this list. There are also parents of ADD/ADHD children, PDD children, and children who are not diagnosed but show some signs that raise concern. Whoever you are, and whatever brings you here, welcome. There is a great deal of information available on this list. While you are welcome (and encouraged!) to ask about anything you wish, we request that you please also familiarize yourself with the FAQ file, which you should receive in a separate email. In addition to being sent out to new subscribers, the FAQ is also available on the -groups website at: /files/Mercury-Autism%20FA Q The FAQ may answer many of your questions, and can be very helpful in understanding topics that are often discussed on this list. You need not read it all at once, and some of the topics (such as chelation) may not be of interest to you at first (in which case, skip those sections!) But do, please, read it, and refer to it over time. In addition to helping you to get information easily, the FAQ also assists other list members, by reducing the number of times that some questions are repeated. As you read through the FAQ, it will probably raise additional questions in your mind. Feel free to post these questions. A suggested method would be to write in and say " The FAQ says <whatever> and I wonder <whatever> about that. " In addition to the FAQ, there are other FILES posted on the -groups website which you may find of interest. The general address to view a list of files is: /files/ In particular, it is recommended that you take a look at the following 2 files: /files/LOVE_LETTERS This is a collection of progress reports about chelation. It is quite a huge collection, and it is NOT a summary. Reading it (over a period of time) may answer some of your questions about what other parents are seeing as they go through the process of mercury detox ( " chelation " ) with their kids. /files/ANDY_INDEX This is an index to some informative posts written by Andy Cutler. Andy is something like a local expert on the list -- many ask his advice. Since his advice is so often solicited, this index is helpful to people who wish to " read up " on his ideas. Autism, mercury posioning, and chelation are all rather controversial topics! There are many areas about which there is wide disagreement. In many areas it is difficult to sort one's way through the divergent opinions and advice. It is okay to question any information (including the FAQ). When doing so, it is helpful to be nuetral or friendly (rather than critical), and to be specific with your questions. (What would help you understand better?) Opposing views are also welcome, and you can expect that others will want to know about the experiences and facts behind whatever views you offer. Many of the people who come to this list are here because they have serious health challenges, usually affecting a child. This is an important business, so sometimes there are strong opinions and serious troubles aired on this list. It's the nature of the topic. The autism treatment group is unmoderated. Your efforts to keep information flowing in a supportive way are appreciated. The group is generally quite supportive, and we are all real people, with problems, concerns, and experience. Guest guest
On this same line of thinking I have trouble getting my kids teachers to read their files. My youngest is one of four. The teacher responded I have not yet had time to read ALL their files. This was 6 days into school. A cop-out in my opinion. How long can it take to read 4 files??? Makes me crazy! a > Quite a task? I don't even know if they read the letter I emailed each of them, since the only ones to respond were the art teacher, the gym teacher and the social studies teacher. I would have hoped to see more acknowledgements that they received it and read it. And they are going full steam ahead with projects and assignments without bothering to consult me first, in direct violation of his IEP. It's a miracle that Braden hasn't had a meltdown yet given the type of assignments he's had - personal stuff that he hates like " An Interesting Thing about Me is... " and Pretending he's a tennis shoe in English and presenting an " About Me " bag 9pictures and other stuff to tell the class a little about himself) in Family and Consumer Science. Encouraged as I am about that (Actually Ecstatic describes it better!!) - as it appears that Braden has learned some coping tools this summer and is utilizing them - I called a meeting. No point in waiting for the sh#$ to hit the fan. I want to be SURE that they all know how to handle a problem and are WILLING to do it. Guest guest
Hi, a and Kathy's talk of teachers seemingly not educating themselves about the special needs kids in the classroom reminds me of a question I have for all of you experts out there: In the IEP process, who decides if the teacher or staff needs in-service training and if they do what form it takes? (Obviously all IEP decisions are supposed to be made by the team, but is there any legal criterion that guides this?) Thanks,

Guest guest
I wondered about that also. I wonder if it is just other companies trying to out sell their product by claiming this about Carlson's. Who can we believe? I've switched to Garden of Life now, but miss the taste and large bottle you can buy with Carlson's. I'm a Dr. Mercola fan and now feel disappointed in two of his products. The other one is the Tropical Traditions Coconut oil. It has a bad taste to it, So I buy the Wilderness Family Naturals one. I trust the Weston A. Price Foundation, and they state that they contacted the company that makes Carlson's and their officials admitted they were adding synthetic vit. A & D to their cod liver oil. Maybe they don't admit this to the general public however. Bee
Guest guest
Hi Pam, I'm sorry I lost the first file I had typed up to upload, so then I decided I would just start typing it in off the site (the web site allows you to create a plain text file or upload other types of files such as MS Word, PDF files, etc.). What you see is how far I got retyping it in the second time and hadn't started plugging names back in yet. Its a work in progress... maybe I should have typed "Under Construction" at the top Val tpbraingym@... wrote: Hi , You are just amazing keeping up with everyone and doing this group!! Thanks. Thanks, Pam Whitman -------------- Original message -------------- From: Freitas <val-freitas@...> Okay, I know you're all probably tired of receiving emails from me, but this is last on my to do list for now and then you'll get a break from me. As always, if anyone has suggestions or corrections for these files, please let me know. I've added new files under the folder, Neurokinesiology Practices. The file titled neurokinesiology-practice-format.pdf is a generic outline that could be used in organizing a practice session. If you're organizing a practice session, feel free to organize them as your members wish, but this format is available if you want to use something that is already created. Each specific reflex covered will follow this general format and will be uploaded under the Neurkinesiology Practices folder. If there are more than one item for that reflex than a folder will be created for that specific reflex, for example as in the case with Spinal Galant (below) where an article was included for additional study support. The Spinal Galant folder contains two files: practice-spinal-galant.pdf contains the outline that we've had on the spinal galant reflex in accordance with the general format above. Specific information drawn from the course manual, class notes not included in the manual, and helpful ideas and suggestions from practice session attendees regarding this reflex are included as well as other sources of information for supporting activities including books, web links, and other BrainGym courses. kb-galant-article.pdf is an article retreived from Kathy Brown's Center Edge website. Kathy Brown is a Brain Gym consultant who has a few articles discussing some balances that she has done concerning reflexes and this article is included for just for additional reading for practice members on this reflex. I hope you all find these files useful and I hope this will facilitate the creation of additional practice group in other areas. Val

Guest guest
How do you spell HMMMphhhhffffff? about more kids??? I was going to send them to Cindi, maybe that is why she is hiding? Actually I wondered why she is hiding the last few days, maybe she has some more kids? (For new members she has 6 kids.) About the risks of removals... I'd ask that surgeon, and although the abstracts are wonderful, they go back 20 YEARS.... well don't even get me going about how different things were 20 years ago. Again the numbers are so small for us that it is difficult to judge any statistic. Doesn't mean you shouldn't make your family trust, (sorry I have black humor), but you should do that anyway. Sandy in So Cal... OT now we are enjoying the cool air again, one neighbor got their ac bill from last month and it was almost $1000. Only about 1500 sq ft insulated house. They ran it all day & night. And we are close to the beach so even though we wimper, it isn't nearly as hot as inland. And speaking of kids (wow this is a long sign off) My darling daughter did get a compliment today from one of her summer camp leaders that she really is an angel... he said other parents thought theirs were angels, but she really is. Okay I know, she is only almost 9, wait until she is a teenager. >> , the Achalasia Family was write by Cindi and the> Achalasia Pamphlet by Joan. Guest guest
Suzy wrote: > > I am having trouble accessing the group files. can someone tell me how i can do this? thank you ==>Hi Suzy. You need to be on your Internet Browser on our actual group's website. Then look to the left menu where it lists: Home, Messages (with sub titles under it), Files, Photos, etc. - Click on Files. There you will see many Folders first which all contains Files, and after the Folders there are more Files. The Folders are in alphabetical order (after the first few candida related ones), and Files after the Folders are also in alpha order. The 2nd Folder is A) Candida LIST of Folders, Files & Links, which you can open and using your Browser's Edit Find Function (at the top) you can search using any word to find specific information. I hope that helps. Bee

I dont have all of them ready yet, but i have posted the ones i have finished so far. Sorry its taking so long. I know they will be so useful when they are done. Thanks for the encouragement. In the mean time, please feel free to ask. BTW RP will not be recommended for your eyes and sinuses. It should not be used on mucous membranes. You will have to hit the boards for those tips. You can go to the ESP botanicals website, and find the phone number on there. If you leave a message, someone will call you back and help guide you on their products.
