Guest guest
>>From what I find here > and elsewhere the ratio of calcium to magnesium should be 2:1. Now, if you give a cal/mag supplement with that ratio and also use magnesium sulfate cream, is the cream affecting the ratio? The 2:1 ratio is standard for a healthy person. If you are deficient in mag then a ratio of 1:1 may be better until you are no longer deficient, and then go to the 2:1. In addition, it is fine to give higher amounts of mag. I would think that, yes, you would include the mag from the cream in the total amount, because that is being absorbed into the body. Also, you can, but don't have to give the calcium and magnesium at the same time. .

Also when you take one without the other it depletes the body's stores of the other one. You can find out a lot more about this at www.acu-cell.com. Guest guest
I use natural calm, I like it. The best laxative for me too. - T --- wrote: > ------------------------ From: " veroeins " <veroeins@...> Subject: calcium/magnesium Hi for all of you that still don't have dairy. What do you do? I was taking a calcium/magnesium supplement and now I have realised it's not SCD legal, so it can feed candida. I have heard of the Kal dolomite powder, the WPF says it has been tested pure, but it still has more calcium than magnesium (not the double tough) I have heard of a product called Natural Calm that is magnesium dissoved in water And I have read (WPF and NT book) broth made from bones (with vinegar or lemon juice in it) simmering for a long time will provide calcium, magnesium and other minerals too. And the grey ocean sea salt too. I don't know what to do. I will try have broth every day, but maybe i should still try some supplements (i'm nursing) how are you managing this? But for some reason the calcium supplement I bought also contains magnesium but in the ratio of calcium 2:magnesium 1 as they are for some reason convinced this is the ratio the body needs. > > I beleive Bee is right and that we need 1:1, however am not sure how to take these supplements together as either way I will end up having more of one than the other! > > Calcium supp contains: 275 calcium & 135 magnesium > Magnesium supp contains: 300 magnesium. > > Should I take 2 calcium and 1 magnesium supplement daily? or 2 and 2? ==>Hi Amber. Yes, you can take 2 calcium and 1 magnesium even if the total calcium is 550 mg. and magnesium 570 mg. Ensure it states the " elemental " amount on the label, which is the amount absorbed. I'm finding some people aren't doing that, and IF the label does not state the elemental amount that means they may have to take more of that product in order to get the correct amount. You absorb about 40% of calcium or magnesium citrate when the elemental amount isn't on the product, so it requires doing some math to calculate it. The bottle doe not state elemental amounts, but it does say that it is highly bioavailable. Do I still go ahead and take 1200mg of eack in divided doses or do I keep it at 600mg of each. > Hi kelly. If you bought it in North America, it probably is the elemental amounts since the US changed regulations so that all labels for minerals must state " elemental amounts. Well the magnesium is 150mg each so i can equal 300 with that but with the magnesium one pill is 350mg. What should i do? Thank you! > +++Hi Keri. You mean your calcium is 350 mg, right? Either dump out one of the magnesium capsules to get it closer to 700 mg per day so it equals your calcium. Or cut off part of the calcium tablet so it is less. Either way you should do fine. Guest guest
I'm trying to find "whole food calcium & magnesium" in a powder, not a pill form. I want to make my own tooth product. The one I have is very basic and simple, but it calls for the above and I'm having trouble finding that product. Anyone? Thanks, Shari

By the way, does anyone have a good natural skin cleanser that does not include castile (sp?) soap? Thanks. Hope everyone is well, and Happy Fall!!! Peace on earth.
