FDA wants to regulate your herbal supplements-New to the group

Normally, I don't want to talk about anything except herbs and their uses. But I

feel that I have to speak out about this. I'm angry that there are people in the

government that are trying to tell me what to take. They are trying to keep a

lid on it and not let you know until the cost of your supplements doubles or

even becomes unavailable. The pharmaceutical companies are starting to complain

about their loss in revenue due to the rise in popularity of herbal supplements.

Now, I don't know about anybody else, and I won't speak for anyone else either.

That being said, I think that it is time for governmental agencies to stay out

of things that aren't any of their business. I am 66 years old and I am way too

old for a babysitter. If <strong>I</strong> choose to take an herbal product, I

don't need <strong>anyone</strong> to tell me whether I should or shouldn't.

Now granted, there are many people that would take advantage and try to sell an

inferior product in order to make money. That's true in <strong>every</strong>

industry. But, it up to us to do out own research and deal with reputable

companies. I don't want to pay more for my supplements, and I definitely don't

want somebody who takes money from a pharmaceutical company to tell me whether

or not I can take what I want for my body and well being.

In Europe, their version of the FDA has done the same thing and they are now

regulating all of their herbal supplements. Consequently, the cost of their

supplements has nearly tripled. So what did the people do? They started to buy

their supplements from the US. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, and I promise

that I won't talk about anything political again, but this is important to me

and I just thought you should know what could happen in the near future.
