Guest guest
Hi Ev, I love my Breville Juicer. All stainless steel, easy to use and clean. Also, I got a great price at Macy's (think it was about $100). HAPPY JUICING! Peace on earth. Guest guest
Check out the new Omega VRT3500 (I think that's the right number, in any event it is VRT). www.discountjuicers.com I'm buying one of those this month. I have a Green Star I LOVE, but the Omega looks faster and easier clean up. After doing 30 days of juice only (a gallon a day) I want to keep juicing in the mornings and this juicer is just what I need. Shari
Guest guest
Vitamix is actually a blender, but I did use it during my 30 days as I wanted tomato juice and the juicer isn't good with toms. I put everything in the VM and whirrled it up and then strained it through a nutmilk bag. (No, cheesecloth won't work!) Another thing, what do you want to do with your juicer? Just juice? Wheatgrass? Not very many juicers do wheatgrass, Champion won't, Acme won't, Jack LaLane won't, GreenStar will, VRT will. Do you want to make banana ice cream? Champion will, GreenStar will VRT will, Jack LaLane won't, Acme won't I forgot to mention if you go to YouTube.com and search for OmegaVRT you will get some great video demonstrations. Guest guest
I agree, the Jack Lalaine is an awesome juicer. I was very very lucky and spotted on in a thrift store, nabbed it up for $30, like new in the box. High price for a thrift store but a good price on the juicer. Guest guest
Hm. Good to know. I'm not sure about wheatgrass - the [very] few samples I've had gave me major indigestion! Hadn't thought about ice cream - the DH might care about that feature. Mostly I just thought some veg/fruit juice would be a good thing for some fasting weekends.... Guest guest
Compared to the Braun, it’s very heavy and a royal pain to take apart and clean. Guest guest
I love love love my VitaMix. I've had one for over 15 years, and I use it every day. You get " total " juice, including the fiber. Juicers strain all the good stuff out (in my opinion). Although sometimes juicers are good for dealing with various health issues. But not only will a VitaMix whip you up some wonderful smoothies, it will also grind grains and beans into flour, knead bread dough, make hot sups, make frozen sorbets, grate cheese and cabbage for cole slaw, etc. I think it can do everything - except mash potatoes and slice stuff. They are expensive - but guaranteed for 7 years for any reason. Great company to deal with. Keep this number handy - if you ever buy one you can get free shipping with this number - 06-001715 Carol

Guest guest
Where is the best place to order a VitaMix? Overstock had one for $350 last month but now its gone. Thats about all I afford to spend. I want one so bad. I have a JL juicer but I never use it - too big of a mess for one and I agree it removes the fiber which I need. Guest guest
That braun has a nice tray there, but a small looking hole to put stuff. This is why I like jacks, I only have to halve apples and most stuff doesn't need any chopping at all. Juicers are like bread machines and treadmills, many people get them and few ever use them, they end up in thrift stores and dumpsters. If you have a local group dedicated to keeping usable items out of landfills you might ask if anyone has one they would part with. Giving and receiving of good stuff FREE. Awesome? Some such groups are: FreeSharing.org ReUseIt Network Around Again Groups SharingIsGiving .org FullCircles.org (Canada) Freegle: Don't throw it away - give it away! (UK) I'm sure there are more, this is just a short list. Or start one in your area on . (not an affiliate of any of the above groups) (but I do operate an independent group in my area and it is awesome) On Tue, 2010-03-02 at 10:19 -0500, Sharyn E.
