Hello everyone. I am a clinical dietitian new to this group and will

start seeing outpatient bariatric patients in the next few months. My

current question pertains to in-patients who come back for

complications years after having the surgery. I am seeing patients in

the hospital that have had surgery 5,10,even more than 20 years ago and

are in the hospital for complications - i.e. hernias, bowl

obstructions, PEM, pancreatitis, etc. Are there any recommendations

for parenteral and enteral support that would be different because of

their history of gastric bypass? Are any of you assessing these types

of patients? And if so, how are you assessing their protein/calorie

needs?

Thanks so much!
