But it was my understanding most of these studies are done with cooked foods. Orange juice you buy in a store is boiled, thus producing acid. Fresh oj is not. To bring your mouth ph into the alkalaine range they have you put lemon juice in your mouth and swish. Then you are alkalaine. How can that be a bad thing?

I drank a lot of OJ but it was always store bought. I know, I know, YUCK!Well I'd been having problems with my organs fartin out on me and couldn't figure out why so started juicing. Not long after all my joints went NUTS to the point I couldn't walk, use my hands, or lift my arms high enough to brush my hair. I was stuck in bed for over a week.I didn't know what brought that on. When I read in the Gerson book people with lupus should avoid citrus I realized I had just started juicing oranges before I started getting worse. And the day before I ended up bedridden I juiced orange lime lemon juice and drank that all day.
