Hi Lynn

Nice to hear from you, I hope you are well. That's a very good reminder about the Internet. I think the surgeon I'm seeing is very able but he does tend towards the cheery side of optimism regarding any surgery etc as a 'piece of cake'. I suspect he underplays things as a part of his bedside manner and so I end up searching the Internet just to get another side on what he tells me. So yes - I should keep a perspective!

Regards Phil

Hi Iris,

Actually MeMom is for Grandmom. My little granddaughter Alyssa started

calling me, MeMom on her

own. She has been doing it ever since she was very little. I love it. I think

since 's

daughter my little Becky calls me Grandmom Lynn, will too. However, I do

love MeMom. Thank you

for the note. Hope you are feeling well.

Hi a,

I do know what the insurance company is putting you through and it is

terrible.

I have been dealing with an insurance company for eight years. My hearing to

stop

my income is on June 10. All the depositions are in so we will see what

happens.

Dealing with an insurance company is very stressful as you know. I just wish it

was

better for you.

My grades for the geography class are in. I am in shock, I got a B. I truly

believe the teacher dropped the last test because I know I did so bad on it. I

heard he does drop test when the class does badly. I am just waiting for the

other

class.

I went for the test today for my stomach. The doctor let me watch, it was

interesting. He explained what every thing inside me was, even if it all isn't

in

the right place. The stomach empties well but than stops and that is why I feel

sick whenever I eat. I don't think anything can be done about that. The pain

well

I am lucky there is no obstructions. However, I don't have an answer either.

He

thinks it is probably scar tissue and it doesn't always show up. That is

exactly

what the GI specialist told me. I haven't spoken to her yet but I feel like I

am

between a brick and a hard place. But she told me nothing was going to show. I

hate to think that I will have to stay in this pain but that is what it looks

like

at this point. I will wait and talk to her, it is just frustrating.

I sure hope you start to feel better and that insurance company helps you. They

fight and fight a person and end up paying for everything anyway. They waste

more

money and it makes no sense. They hope if they hold out you will just go away.

Just keep fighting them. I'll let you know what the GI doc says and how the

hearing

goes.

Congratulations on your geography grade. Are you taking any classes over

the summer or taking a break?

I'll be praying that your hearing goes well. You've had such a long battle.

I'm sorry nothing can be done for your stomach. I can't believe there are

not alternatives and you just have to live in pain. I hope your GI doctor

will come up with something to make your life more comfortable. I know what

it's like to loose the joy of eating. When eating causes pain, it puts food

in a different light.

Hi a,

I was thinking of you this morning when I got up and it was raining again.

I'm

sure your jaw must be very painful. But I am glad the insurance company has to

pay

for what you need.

I am not taking a class this summer. The last semester was very hard.

There

were days when I dragged myself to class. Plus the pain with my stomach didn't

help

any. So I am taking the summer off. I am so relieved with my Geo.. grade. I

am

waiting for my English Comp II grade. However, I did get my research paper

back. I

was so excited about that because he gave me an A. It was 20 pages long and I

wrote

it on Historic Preservation. I was hoping for a B but was blown away with the

A.

He wrote some very nice compliments on the paper. I feel so much better. I

really

thought I had made a mistake going back when I did, but you know it worked out.

It

will be a little harder to go now. I can't get anyone financial aid at my

school.

If I transferred to a four year school I could. So I will have to scrape the

money

together to continue. Even if I can only take one class at a time I will have

to do

it that way. I hate to not go with only 5 classes to take for my degree. I

will

just trust God will help me find a way.

Tylenol was helping with the pain in my stomach but no longer works. So I

started

taking darvocet. I am still waiting to here from the GI doctor but with the

holiday

I think it will be a couple of days. I do plan on going down to the hospital

and

picking up a couple of the reports myself. I like to read what has been written

that way I have questions. Laurie made pizza last night so I got a slice of

what I

like to think of as pizza. Really just a slice of dough and sauce but who cares

it

is a treat.

I hope your holiday is peaceful and you can enjoy it. Isn't the weather

terrible, I

can't remember the last time the sun was out.

Hugs,

Lynn

Dear Lynn:

First....I hope you are having a great Memorial Day!

Sometimes, our hopes and plans change for a reason. It could be that you are

supposed to cut back to one class at this particular time in your life. No one

can take away what you have already learned with the sweat of your brow and

sacrifices that have carried you to this point. Who knows what the Master

Weaver has ahead for you and sometimes when you look back in retrospect, the

pieces of the puzzle fall into their perspective places and a light

dawns......... " Oh, I see why that happened! " I'm speaking from experience. I

started a community college right out of high school, part time. Circumstances

after a year, forced me to stop (not stop, actually, it was always in my mind to

go back). When I was able to go back, it was after my husband died and with

juggling two kids, working full time, and a myriad of other things, took

anywhere from 1 - 3 classes a semester. There were times, I had to drop a

semester and wait until the money and/or resources were there. I had difficulty

with 3 different subjects and had to drop each one several times before finding

a teacher that was able to reach my dense brain before finally succeeding in

them and going on to other classes in the same field. In 1977, 19 years after

starting my first class, walked with the graduating class and received a

well-appreciated AA degree in English. One year later, having had enough

credits to take 6 more classes and earn a second AA, received one in Social

Science. My GPA was 3.8 and I never realized the significance of the degrees and

GPA until later when I had to change careers in mid-stream. I continued the

following year for one semester at the University but again, circumstances

forced me to postpone any further education. A few years after that, telephone

company (where I had worked for 22 years) was in the middle of the divestiture

and my department was on the way out having gone from 5 locations with anywhere

from over a hundred to two hundred employees down to 1 location and around 50

employees. When several options were presented to us(ie, early full retirement,

quitting, waiting it out for a transfer but no guarantee where the location

would be, possibility of being laid off, or taking a package early retirement

which consisted of in my case of salary and benefits for 10 months, a small lump

sum (2500 eaten up by taxes) and picking up a fixed retirement pension at age

65) I opted for the early (VIPP) package because of the stress the job phone

company was putting everyone through at the time and pressures at home with a

teenager that was trying to find herself. That's when I found that even just

the two small degrees were not really small and always played a big influence in

all the jobs I have had since. I regretted leaving college when I did, however,

when the big picture came into focus, many things were clearer and now there are

no regrets. At some point, I will go back for more learning whether it will be

for a degree or for my own enjoyment. But then again, all of it has been for my

own enjoyment.

As for the financial aid, you never know what aids are available. It might take

a little research on your part, but I am sure there are resources out there. At

San Diego State University's library there is a complete section devoted to

scholarships and I'm sure other Universities have something similar. There are

scholarships available, for example, if you are over 40 and color your hair with

a certain product or if you had a relative that carried the baggage for a wagon

train west for his great aunt.(this one is stretched, but just to show you that

some of the most ridiculous scholarships are available and usually go unused

because no one knows about them). Give it a try and I think you might be

surprised.

Anyhow......good luck on your learning adventure. It's a great feeling when you

are finished.

Thinking positive thoughts for you with lots of prayers and (((hugs))). Jan in

Hi Jan,

I am so impressed with all your accomplishments. You certainly have done so

well. It must have been so hard trying to go to school with children at home.

My girls are older so it is not hard. I thank you for all your kind words. I

really didn't get all that upset when the letter came. I thought I will just

trust God to help me find a way. I am disappointed that I won't be able to

graduate next May but that is the way it is. I already have a certificate in

Historic Preservation that I earned two years ago. That certificate means a lot

to me, there were some very difficult courses in that program. I would like to

have my AA in Liberal Arts and I think I will be able to get that. I was

suppose to go to Temple for a bachelor but I may just stay at Bucks. There are

many classes I would like to take. I know God is watching over me and helping

me. I am sure he has a good reason for all that has happened. I forgot about

all this until I read your note. Thank you from

the bottom of my heart. Hope your holiday was nice. Here in Pa., it is nothing

but rain and more rain. It was continue for the whole week-end again.

Thank you for your kind thoughts,

Lynn

Thanks a, I will check this out. The only thing she has me on is Zelnorm.

But that is to just empty the pouch when I do eat. Problem with that drug is

remembering to take it before you eat.

Thanks I will check out the sites. You know I thought I knew all about the

surgeries I had. I thought I had researched everything and I really was told I

had the best doctors. I am so rethinking everything but at this point it won't

do me any good.

I saw you mention digestive enzymes for Lynn a few times before, a.

I think it's a good idea and I'm wondering why none of the doctors have

mentioned it.

a,

I am reading this sites with great interest. I did enzymes when I was

having all the attacks but it was stopped. I see that people are

suppose to take enzymes before they have a whipple. No one ever told me

that one. I don't understand why it hasn't been recommended. I don't

eat dairy or meat. I do eat a lot of veggie but they are well cooked

and if I understand this site, that cooking takes out the enzymes. I am

going to ask my primary on Saturday. I called the hospital to see if an

error was made. I am suppose to call them back later today. I feel

like the GI doc is so frustrated she doesn't want to deal with it. She

told me to call her and let her know what the pain management doctor

says. I guess I am suppose to cancel the appointment I have with her.

I am going to continue reading the sites you sent.

Thank You,

Lynn

Dear ,

I am so sorry that the pain continues to be so intense without anyone figuring

out how they could

help you. My cousin had his spleen removed and he has to take medication daily

so I don't see how

they could have removed your spleen without you knowing that. I hope that your

doc meant that

there should be some other way of treating you and was not saying that he

doesn't believe in pain

treatment. Please let us know what he says. Hugs to you. Iris

Hi Iris,

Well we found the spleen, thank goodness. The pain is bad but I will just

have to deal with it.

I really don't want anymore surgery. I think surgery will be in my picture but

I hope it hold it off

as long as possible. I have had way to much surgery for a long time.

Hope you are having a good day,

Lynn

Lynn, I have to start getting ready for work soon and I wanted to get

this off to you. I have been wanting to write but time is really hard on

me. I am always behind in reading and posting. I always feel bad that I

wasn't able to post what I want or be in touch with everybody. It's only

been a few months I have been in the group. At first I was really

overwhelmed by the whole thing. I got pretty stressed out by the whole

thing. My daughter and ex think it's not good for me to be in the group.

That I have gone downhill since being in it. Even my doc says that. In a

way they are right, but, I'm not willing to give it up. I am a bit more

relaxed now with posting and I can understand how people feel. I don't

know if I'll be ever be able to get the total hang of it. If I didn't

have to work it would be better. Anyway I just wanted to let you know

that I have always enjoyed your little notes for having a good day!

Especially the little rose! -NH

,

Yes, I got it to and was going to forward it to Jerry to see if I was the only one. I guess I won't now because others must have received it. I was suspect but did open it because it started . I hope someone looks into it.

Lynn, Yes you did write me back. Was going to write last night but it got

late. Figured I would get to it this morning before going to work and

naturally ran out of time. I spent early hours clearing out posts. I'm so

afraid if I hold on to to many that my e-mail address will break down

again like my other one did! I need to ask you something! And anybody

else can answer this too! I was just reading today's messages and there

was one from: hot4_azz1 Subject: ( )are you coming

to my orgy 7/23/03 DID ANYBODY GET THIS TOO IN THEIR POSTS?

I copied it to see the e-mail address and it says:

hot4u_azz1@... Can something write back and tell me

whether they saw this too? Like right now?? Weird things have been

happening and I need to know. -NH Lynn, next post is to you!

Lynn, I know I asked this before, but, are you seeing a GI or a Hep? Do

you live in a small area? I remember you saying finding a doctor who is

experienced with PLD is hard to find. Do they have to drain these cysts

every so often? Can't these cysts be removed? Are they on the inside of

your liver too? I think you mentioned you have fatty liver too. I like

seeing the rose again. How do you add these things to your posts. There

is much I do not know about computers! Hope you are feeling well. Do

you color your hair? If so, what do you use? Take Care -NH

Hi Lynn,

I have been getting messages ok and I hope you are now. I wouldn't even know where to start to fix your problem except for you to try the help process.

Let me know if you get this message or if you are still having the problem and I'll try and think of something to do.

MicheleLynn Witkowski <lynnwit@...> wrote:

Hi Michele,

Several of the messages have been empty... I am just wondering if this is an isolated problem affecting just my mail, or if others in the group are getting the same thing. The following is an example of what I receive.
