Good news on buttercups

Another poster came up with this

I think, like a lot of lawn weeds, the key is to eliminate the factors that are causing them to thrive. Buttercups like damp areas, so maybe there's a drainage problem that can be addressed?

I guess it's why we don't have them here, waaaay too much sand, if I remember Kentucky soil rightly it's clay.
