What is your suggestion? I`m willing to try it. He was tested by his Dan dr. He even put on the sheet of recommendations -baking soda, but never told me how to give it- because his system is more acid, because he doesn`t eat much protein. Thanks. Guest guest
Hey, it is worth a try. I never heard of thermotab, but- I think this is sounds like a shot. I know coffee does me badly. DOes not matter, regular or decaf, the decaf does me worse, but both do me badly. I am thinking chocolate does, too- and milk. (I do not drink pop) > I talked to a friend tonight, a retired scientist, used to work within the space program. I hadn't talked to him in a few years so he didn't know I had RA. He immediately told me to put 1/4 tsp. of baking soda in a small glass of warm water. He said to drink it about 1 1/2 hours after eating, 3 times a day. He also said to take Thermotab 2 tablets at night. It is a combination of equal parts sodium and potassium. The way he described his theory on RA, he said the baking soda cuts down on the acid in the body and breaks down the saturated fat. He said to stay away from sugars and fruits, as they will cause higher acid levels in the body. I really don't understand it all and he may or may not know what he's talking about. But, it seems simple enough to try. I do notice that if I drink a soda, my pain is much worse. I was a Pepsi fanatic for a long time and quit several months ago. My pain is much relieved. When I have a soda, as I did today, I have very noticeable pain and swelling. Might be worth a try. > > Becky > > >

Guest guest
Many research studies have implicated diet as a major risk factor in the development of rheumatoid arthritis. All of the foods that have been found to worsen the symptoms of this disease are either highly acidic or produce an acid response within the body. When volunteers with this disease were taken off these foods and either fasted for a period of time or were placed on more alkaline vegetarian diets, they experienced a notable improvement in their symptoms. http://www.drlark.com/nc/jh_arthritis_rheum.asp A great site on Acidosis: http://www.drlam.com/A3R_brief_in_doc_format/acidosis.cfm a > I talked to a friend tonight, a retired scientist, used to work within the > space program. Guest guest
> Deborah, > I found plain baking soda in the food co-op today, but not the rest. I am going to take just that. I can't even imagine asking a pharmicist to mix a concoction for me....Have you done this? > gigi > Hi Gigi - No, I haven't done either, but I did find a baking soda without benzene in the health foods store and I bought a huge bag of it. When it runs out, I will reconsider the information. By the way, I wouldn't hesitate to ask a pharmacist to mix up a special order, they might charge a small fee. I'm a frustrated scientist anyway so I would probably try to get the ingredients and mix it myself ;-D just for fun. I don't think using the regular baking soda on occasion would present any huge danger - especially since you are doing deep cleansing, any even minute toxins would be released next flush.... Guest guest
Kari - Two different practitioners have recommended sodium bicarbonate (and/or potassium) bicarbonate to me. I asked for something to help me when I am having a health crisis, say, from a food sensitivity. It often helps. Probably has something to do with the acid/alkaline thing (which I just find sooo hard to understand, LOL) Have a happy day - p

Guest guest
I've read and thought more about drinking it every day. I think I'm gonna' cut back on the amount I drink or maybe only drink the strong amount 1X a week or so. But, I'm still gonna' gargle, douche, and put it in my nose and ears every day for 2 months For those of you who are only drinking it, I don't know. But it may not be effective. On Dr. Simoncini site he has the soda go directly on the tumor. The only reason I drank it was in case there was any Candida in my esophagus or stomach. Guest guest
Ted....... never, never , never, start out on high dose's of anything new you take for the first time. I recommend 1/2 tsp. once a day to start with. If no bad ills that day, then the next day take 1/2 tsp. twice a day. Do this for a week. If things are ok, and you can handle it, go to 1 tsp a day. If your ok with that, then try 1 tsp. twice a day. Go with the dose that works for you, and is your comfort zone. For some it may take a long time to build up to 2 tsp. a day. This goes for any natural products you first take. BECAUSE....you have NO idea how your body is going to react to any one product. Guest guest
Hmmm, I was under the assumption that this is something you are only supposed to do for a couple of days. Its really tough on your body, and it could bend you over in half and cause a great deal of pain.. I couldn't find anything anywhere that said you should do it more than that. And that you should be following it with probiotics so that they live. Guest guest
Bicarbonate of Soda kills Candida. Because of antibiotics, aspartame, birth control pills, diet, trichloroethyle exposure and a host of others issues, I'm doing everthing I can to rid myself of Candida while I wait for the call from my doctor to let me know if I have Lymphoma. I also take probiotics, digestive enzymes and Immune support multivatimins. I, by myself, decided to try this after reading about Cancer is a Fungus by Dr. Tullio Simoncini. I have been sick on and off for a long time. But, in 2004 I became deathly ill from using aspartame. I thought I had recovered, but a year later I started having a host of health problems. Mainstream medicine has been no help whatsoever. The only thing they have done is to make my wallet less heavy to the tune of about 25 thousand $. I've been reading, researching and exploring all aspects of alternative medicine. When I, not anybody else, find something that makes sense to me I try it. I, personally believe that I have Candida disease which causes malnutition. Therefore I'm going to do everything I can to get rid of the fungus. And after reading about Baking soda killing Candida I put my own strategy together because it makes sense to me. As for digestive issues, I haven't been bloated since I started this. It also seems to clean me out on an as needed basis. And I'm not planning to do this forever. I honestly feel like it is helping me get rid of yeast. " Buddy A. Touchinsky, D.C. Guest guest
Hello all, I am new to this kind of communication, so I can't really follow how the conversation flows. I recently ran across Dr. Crook's book The Yeast Connection, and feel that this is exactly what is wrong with me. Finally, I'm not crazy after all. I am encouraged by the discussion about Baking Soda. How do I administer it? Do the pills work as well as drinking it? Where can I get the pills? How long is the treatment? And finally, is this a cure? I understand that I can never go back to refined sugar, and can live with out breads. I would love to eat fresh fruit without symptoms. Guest guest
As far as I know, baking soda and sodium bicarbonate are the same thing. I always buy Arm & Hammer brand. Their boxes have always said " Ingredient: Sodium Bicarbonate " . Nothing else. Pure baking soda. If you have bought " baking soda " that has other things in it, I'd ditch that brand if I were you. They probably add stuff to make it flow better when poured, not stick together when humid, etc. I wouldn't buy any " baking soda " that wasn't pure sodium bicarbonate. I keep the box in a zip-lock bag sealed tight with most of the air squeezed out when I'm not using it. Now, baking POWDER is a whole different animal ... most have cornstarch and potassium alum or sodium alum in them. There's a brand called Rumford that doesn't have the alum but it does have cornstarch. Guest guest
Thanks to suggestions and posts on this board I started taking baking soda this week. The first day I took 2 tsp in half a glass of water chased it with another glass of water and then went about my day. This was a mistake for me. Too much, too soon. I had a raging headache all day and a pounding heart all night. Day two I did not take any, but did a baking soda douche. Day 3 through 5 I did a half a tsp in water then laid down for at least twenty minutes after taking it, plus a douche every other day. Things I have noticed: Positives first- My weight dropped almost 40 pounds in the first three months of the diet. Then it froze, went back up, and then leveled off. Since Monday I am dropping weight again at about 1/2 pound a day. I still could stand to lose 5-15 pounds but could never really get it to move after the initial weight loss. After about a month on the diet I began having diarrhea and had been there ever since. After only two days of baking soda I have to say that I am getting closer to what I would consider regular bm's. Acne has also been a life issue for me. When I first went on the diet it cleared for a while, but by the summer it seemed like it was back to status quo. Since the baking soda I have cleared up again. Not sure if it is permanent?? Negatives- Bad taste in my mouth most of the day. Very salty tasting... Heart pounding wakes me up at night sometimes. Selenium and Vit E seems to help it though. Stomach cramping after douche. I have a lot of female issues so I am hoping that it is a healing kind of pain. Headache- it is light, but if I stop too long I can tell it's there. I would have to say that the positives have so far out weighed the negatives on baking soda for me. I will continue to use it while continuing the diet, and supplements to beef up my immune system. Thanks to all for sharing! -8 months 4 weeks 1 day something that makes sense to me I try it. I, personally believe that I have Candida disease which causes malnutition. Therefore I'm going to do everything I can to get rid of the fungus.
