Yes, you can use TINY amounts of good quality sea salt in the garden. You can also use seaweed instead. Both will add trace minerals.

Seaweed? What a GREAT idea!! I never would have thought of that, but

it makes so much sense. Now to put it into action.......

I think I'll stick with my liquid seaweed in my foliar spray- Garrett's juice

It's an essential ingredient in Garrett's juice

Garrett Juice (ready to spray):

in a gallon of water1 cup compost tea1 ounce molasses1 ounce natural apple cider vinegar1 ounce liquid seaweedFor more fertilizer value add: 2 ounces of liquid fish (fish hydrolysate)For disease and insect control add:¼ cup garlic tea or¼ cup garlic/pepper teaOr 1 - 2 ounce of orange oilFor homemade fire ant killer add: 2 ounces of orange oil per gallon of Garrett Juice

This is great info! I love it!!

I've used compost tea before. I remember when I first made it, my wife

asked me what I was making. I said, " compost tea " . She looked at me

like I was crazy (for some reason she has that look down pat. Hhmmm)

and said, " there's no way in Hell I'm drinking THAT!! "

After I stopped laughing, I explained to her what it was for. I guess

she had a good reason to be startled. Some of the stuff I've made was

pretty strange.

I use a fresh water algae in my garden (plus it also has volcanic rock dust in

it) - salt is not all that good for soil (you get salt in seaweed from the

ocean). It makes the soil more acidic which affects the soil's ability to

transfer nutrients to the plant, so eventually the plant will become nutrient

deficient. Salt is not good for the soil structure.
