Guest guest
I take a kelp tablet every day just in case I have a sluggish Thyroid. I use Swansonsvitamins.com, they have great products and low prices, and they are made here in the US. So many veggies and fruits have their pesticides all built in, and today I juiced entirely from my garden and I'm expecting GREAT THINGS from that. I know for instance that apples which I eat one of everyday are one of those pesticides-included fruits. I'm just tickled I can get my own fresh, healthy foods now. Lol ice cream is one thing I really miss. AND CHEESE! Oh and one more thing, The tea with cinnamon and [raw] honey Greg mentioned is a wonderful mood energy/lifter for me. I have that with my garden hash I eat for 'breakfast'. I love this group for all the healthy stuff I've learned. ~Katy wrote:"If it didn't have a mother and didn't come from the ground, don't eat it". That's really good advise and includes Ice cream....Thyroid tests say I'm ok in that dept but according to the book, I might not be. Guest guest
I could not finish Howie's book. It became very tedious and depressing. Ever watch "Losing It" with Jillian? She moves in with families to get them on track with food and exercise and she's not nice about it. I eat anything that grows and can be eaten without cooking. Guest guest
Did you know that some foods when cooked bring out certain chemical compounds that you cant get from the food when eaten raw. Guest guest
"Did you know that some foods when cooked bring out certain chemical compounds that you cant get from the food when eaten raw" Sure I know that, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I eat such a variety I know I've got the bases covered as much as you know you've got the bases covered eating cooked foods. Shari
Guest guest
I eat a bit more than 1/3 raw so I'm sure it's doing me good. ~Katy Sheep to the right; His Lamb “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength" Isa 30:15 http://orchardhouseheirlooms.com/product_info.php/cPath/157_163/products_id/199 survival seeds Christian-homesteaders/ biblical survival -- Re: Metabolism/was/Apple cider, honey, garlic "Did you know that some foods when cooked bring out certain chemical compounds that you cant get from the food when eaten raw" Sure I know that, but it doesn't bother me in the least. Guest guest
Of course…tomatoes come to mind. But on the whole, raw nutrition is way superior to cooked.
