I use to make one alllllll the time... And I'll probably be poo pooed for using something in a can....But the base of it was a huge can of V8. Throw in cabbage and whatever veggies I felt like and simmer. Mmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it.Candace No shadows to depress you Only joys to surround you Many friends to love you God himself to bless you These are my wishes for you, For today, tomorrow & everyday. While researching soups I saw a great idea, cabbage soups, I have lots of cabbage, my red cabbage grows solid dark blue so I grow lots of it, I have a lot, rather than sauerkraut I want to make a nice cabbage soup. I think I'll start with a nice chicken stock, since I don't do any pork I won't be using any bacon or such. I want to use lots of onions. I don't actually need a recipe, since I don't use any recipes, I use ingredients and adjust for what I have on hand, any advice on ingredients? Herbs?

OH yummy, sounds wonderful ; of all the canned stuff available, I only ever use stewed tomatoes, I puree them for Marinara sauce or use a little for my tacos, or just to add a little sompin to every day dishes.
