Guest guest
I mix half CS with half hydrogen peroxide in a glass, not a lot of each, but equal amounts. How'd I get the idea? Several years ago, I started using the blotting brushes that are sold on the Price-Pottinger site, and learned how to use them. I typically use them at night and once during the day. They did a great job of tightening my gums, but I still had some deep pockets and bleeding infections that didn't clear up by just blotting. A friend posted a protocol for using a home-made toothpaste made with glycerin, salt, baking soda, and some other things and mentioned using it alternately with hydrogen peroxide. I used this for awhile, but I was concerned about using the glycerine: it is not easy to completely remove from the teeth. Then, another friend, showed us how she makes CS, and mentioned that she mixed CS and hydrogen peroxide to brush her teeth. I gave that a try -- but I never gave up using the blotting technique. I use a regular toothbrush for the CS/HP mix, and I use it AFTER I do the blotting. The last time I went to the dentist, the technician could not believe that there was no bloody infection in the two spots that have been a problem for the 18 years she has been doing my teeth. Since I had had significant improvement with the blotting, and even more improvement with the DS/HP mix, I figure that whatever I am doing is working. One caveat. The friend who gave me the recipe based on glycerin said she had tried CS but it turned her teeth brown. I have watched my teeth for this because neither my husband nor I can see that CS would do this. The other day while I was brushing, I noticed that my teeth were not as white as they have been with toothpaste, and I remembered a dentist many, many years ago telling me that shiny white teeth are not healthy teeth, that healthy teeth are more creamy, even yellowy, in color. I suspect that what my friend found with CS was that her teeth were getting healthier but Madison Avenue has us convinced that our teeth need to be shiny white. At my age, I am not worried about shiny white teeth, and given the improvement in the overall health of my teeth and gums, I will continue with what seems to be making that happen. And to make this sprout related: I eat a lot of sprouts, and some tend to get very stuck between two teeth. These have been easier to remove since I started using the CS with hydrogen peroxide. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the HP foams!
