Guest guest
This is real scarey and only a minor part of the big plan of big government. Guest guest
Well hello there Dr ! I did not realize you had subscribed to my humble little mailing list. Welcome! I'm happy that you too call yourself a Libertarian. Like most Libertarians I envision an ideal world in which the FDA is non-existent or virtually so, and in which big brother government does not exist. This Unique Health Identifier plan is frightening to be sure. I'm not comfortable even about giving people access to my social security number, much less my medical records. By the way if you would rather be addressed by the name " Jim " or something similarly informal then by all means say so! -gts (gordon swobe) > This is real scarey and only a minor part of the big plan of big government. > I too am a Libertarian an believe a person's medical records should be > protected by our constitution as private. > > Live and learn, long and well, > R , MD
Guest guest
Greetings Gordon... Greetings Dr. ... What is going on, that I seemed to have missed it? Is there a plan for the U.S. Government to have a health record of all its citizens? That sounds real nice... so they would want to know if a citizen has had gonohrrea, for example, and maybe they would ask who you have slept with? And keep a record of it... so if you are dating a nice Catholic or Jewish girl, she can also have access to the data, before you might ask her to marry you... I can see it can really present a problem of privacy. - Ellis --- JRHMD53@... wrote: > This is real scarey and only a minor part of the big > plan of big government. > I too am a Libertarian an believe a person's medical > records should be > protected by our constitution as private. > > Live and learn, long and well, > R , MD > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Get 75% Off Our Best Selling Health and Wellness > Books! > SelfCare.com has everything you need to take care of > you and your family, > plus spend $40 or more and your shipping is free! > http://clickhere./click/1824 > > > > -- Easily schedule meetings and events using the > group calendar! > -- cal?listname=longevity & m=1 > > > ===== Ellis Toussier See Table of Contents of all my Rejuvenation pages http://www.geocities.com/Paris/5000/table.html __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I'm not too worried about Jewish and Catholic girls who might find out about our sordid pasts. However I am worried about the nature of medical privacy as we learn more about the human genome. There will come a time in the near future in which our DNA will be " fingerprinted " at birth. We will know immediately the diseases for which our newborn children will be at risk during their lifetimes. That information will be helpful medically but it could also create a lot of privacy problems. The most important problems concern insurance coverage. Say for example that a person is born with a high genetic risk for an incurable form of cancer, and that this information is " on the public record " . How will that person be able to get health insurance? The insurance companies will decline coverage or demand unaffordable premiums. -gts Re: Your health privacy > Greetings Gordon...
