I had to give up on eating sprouted chickpeas because they give me so much digestive distress. Not just gas and bloating but pain and nausea. They're just too hard for me to digest (unless they're cooked, at which point I have zero problems digesting chickpeas (garbanzos)) Sparrow Jesus is the reason for the Season. Guest guest
Hey! That name sounds good to me. I originally got them several years ago, when we were renting our upstairs to her mom and 3 children. I am about 98% sure they came in a package of the boys sunflower seeds. I now seal in Glass jars pref. or Tupperware. Melody Re: Re: I want to buy some Alfalfa Seeds Are the Now seeds Organic? I am having a little difficulty finding organic sprouting seeds locally. Well, I found them but they were in a twist tie bag and infested. Smyrna, TN US Zone 7 My first posting..... .. I get a pound bag of Zesty Sprouting Mix (1/2 crimson clover, 1/4 alfalfa and 1/4 fenugreek), brand name NOW, at my local health food store (Chuck's) on the second Tuesday of each month when they have 20% discount throughout the store. Regular price is $4.99 so end up paying about $4.00 after discount. Definitely like the 'Zesty' mix vs. straight alfalfa for salads. Guest guest
Hi All: I have an interesting question about how one sprouts. I use plastic jars (I cut off the top of my Crysal Light conainers), put some mesh cloth and a rubber band and I've had no problems. I have noticed that my alfalfa (while it sprouts) does not FILL THE JAR like the one in the video. But then again, she used a mason jar and that's glass. So my question is: Should I be using glass jars to grow my sprouts, or am I perfectly okay using my plastic bottles. If this is about personal preference, that's fine. But I just wanted to know the best way to grow these seeds. Thanks much. Melody
Guest guest
I would be leary about using plastic containers that were not meant for raw food use. Wide mouth mason jars would be the best. ew Re: Re: I want to buy some Alfalfa Seeds Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2008 12:23:02 -0500 Hi All: I have an interesting question about how one sprouts.
