Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I joined the group a couple days ago and have been following this thread with fascination. I could not help but reply so I will do that now and follow up with an introduction. On the website www.cheriesroadtohealth.com, I read much of the info and followed some links. Under Cherie's Protocol, MSM she references www.cancertutor.com/cancer/msm.html. They have MSM suppliers and articles listed. When reviewing the information, the vendors they recommend do not have any additives or silicon dioxide in their MSM. Cherie did say she used the brand Natural Balance. To my understanding, Natural Balance purchases Lignisul MSM and adds microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate and stearic acid. On the website for cancertutor, the recommended vendor for MSM is PC NewtworRx who distributes the Lignisul brand and claims it is 99.9% pure and free of additives. The claim is that additives may have a negative affect on the absorption of the MSM. This is my observation so I thought I would pass along the info. I'm very happy to be part of this group and have already learned a lot. Laurie > > > > Sulfur is not DMSO. Guest guest
Entirely agreed, we should do what is " generally regarded as right " in terms of nutrition. As for weight, the good weight is the the normal, right weight - no need to lose all fat and become wire-thin, but obesity creates inflammation just by itself. I was 40 lbs overweight and losing them over a year was helpful, if only for the general health, but I would not go further - there is no need. Calcium should be just right but not excessive. Lack of sleep and stress are very important factors. Exercise, if only as walking, also is important. > > A lot of variables are probably indirectly related to Samter's.Loosing weight can decrease inflammation and increase longevity.Calcium in the diet and Vitamin D can help increase weight loss(low levels of Vit D also decreases immunity).Since a lot of us suffer from inflamation(ie leukotrienes) and osteoporosis(side effect of steroids) and possibly obesity(increased stress hormones)it all becomes relevant.Even a lack of sleep increases weight gain (also TH2 response according to Asfy). So lifestyle, nutrition, and state of mind must all be related.Controlling the above won't constitute a cure but may help to ameliorate our condition.Sincerely Wayne >
